Celebration City is Open

Another thing that I didn't understand, is why they took out the Chute the Shoot (Tidal Wave) ride. I would have definitely kept that over the portable log flume they have now. They also should have kept Sea Dragon

Which one was the Chute the Shoot? That slide they built the last year they operated?

It was called somethng like Fall Creek Splash, or something like that. It's pretty much like Monsoon. That's what most of the trolley parks had back then

Celebration City (BUSA) had that? I dont remember a ride like monsoon at Branson USA.

If you loved Ozark Wildcat go to theme park critic and vote.

Hey Guys! come on! There are only 3 reviews of Ozark Wildcat in there.

Sorry to break up your email again (;)) but I just wanted to say that I talked with a few friends of mine (from the East Coast) who have ridden Wildcat and they said it is definitely one of the better coasters they've been on! So that is some good news, makes me want to visit more, but not this year at least. We'll see about next year if they add anything new.

Top Thrill Dragster -- The most intense, unbelievable, and spectacular fifteen seconds on any coaster, anywhere, ever.

That was an e-mail?! lol Hmmm... As for next year, is anyone really sure of what they are adding?

Not as of yet, but I'm sure we will have all the info by the time ACE's Coaster Christmas comes around.

What time frame is the Coaster Christmas this year? haha, just joking. I am not doubting they will add a new coaster within 3 or 4 years at CC... And hopefully SDC will get that wooden they're talking about.

Alrighty, here's my *unofficial* short but sweet review of CC until I get a chance to do more - ya know, a TR, or at least something like one...;).

Wildcat...like this, short but oh so sweet. Straight track? Well, there *is* the lift, ROFL....man, it's the wooden version of Ga Scorcher...awesomely twisted. Coasters that are *called* twisters, they haven't seen a twister before. My take is a cross between LR's smoothness (yes, it's THAT smooth) and Roar's layout, only moreso. This is definitely a family-type ride, but it is near perfection at that. The entire ride is banked turns, swift and well-paced, until the two small bunnies at the very end. The *jump* onto the brakes reminded me of KG's Twister...what a FUN ride. Kudos to GCII, Jeff Pike, and to Celebration City!

Thunderbolt, look OUT for the drop. If you've ridden a Windstorm, you know which one I'm talking about, but this one takes *momentum* into the drop.....WOW!

JackRabbit...it's all the best parts of a wild mouse (read:the end) with a three-car train and plenty of airtime...

The flats of note, the Fireball and the Orbiter (Flying Carpet) are run at HIGH intensity, short duration cycles....be prepared...:)

More later, just wanted to say HI, let everyone know I'm home safe, and that it was absolutely fantastic to meet up with so many of you at SRM. The tragedy at least served the purpose of really making it clear how important our friendships are...(P.S.....Whatever happened to Coasterbuzz)....I love you guys....:)

Final note: My sig got lost at Orlando Int'l Airport...at least I got my luggage...:)

Hey glad you had fun at Celebration City. The park really has potential and from the sounds of it - it is meeting expectations so far. I can only imagine how this park will improve over the coming years. Just think, they did all of that (the park) in less than a year. Once they get a season under their belt - it will only get better.

Bill - Coaster Christmas is the 2nd weekend in December - or at least it was last time I checked. Jeff M might move it, it all depends on Lisa at SDC.

I went back to CC this past Friday and you know, the more I ride the Wildcat.... well, the more I want to ride the Wildcat :) That is one great ride. I probably would have put in a LOT of laps in had I not started getting the flu bug set in during the day while I was at SDC. I also rode the Jack Rabbit once but by then I was really needing to head home. One of these days I am going to have to stay late and see that closing show!

Hey Swoosh, going to SFStL or WOF this Friday by chance?

Dwane

No unfortunately I am not going to be going anywhere for awhile. I had a wreck last night (Monday) on I-70 and totalled my car. So until that gets fixed or I get a new one, I'm on foot. Loads of fun for me.

Wow, sorry to here that. Hope you get back on the road again soon, I was on foot during memorial day weekend and for a week after that. Hope you didn't get hurt!
It was just me and my brother (who is also on MiG staff). We were on our way home from SFStL and we have this collision. No one is hurt (thank goodness), but we are still working everything out with the claims adjuster, insurance and everything else. Unfortunately this puts a hold on anymore updates for MIG and trips right now as we have no idea what's going to happen as of now. Thanks for your concern though - we were lucky this time.

Hey Guys, finally got back from Orlando! Boy was that a lot of fun. But it's good to be back in good ol Mighty MO.
I couldn't agree with you guys more when you say, think of what we can expect in the future! I will be a lot of fun next Winter being able to talk about next years attraction. 55 of the 112 acres were used this year!
dont forget to vote on wildcat over at themepark critic

Jack Rabbit = OUCH!!!

Got my first ride on JR (6/21) and it has to be one of the worst coasters I have been on. I didn't think there was a company out there that made worse coasters than Vekoma - but there is - it's Miler. I was in pain from the get-go, and will be passing this one up for now on. Disappointing is all I have to say, it looked like fun.

It can't be that bad... of course, I do seem to like rides that most find painful or rough.

Anyway... I thought I would ask this here instead of creating a new thread. How is SDC on Fridays? Is it very crowded and how are the lines?

------------------
Am I really that shy?

Wow Swoosh, I don't remember my ride in the front seat of the Jack Rabbit being painful as much as just disappointing, I got off thinking geez I could have spent this time on the Wildcat, I know I wasn't feeling all that great and though next time I go back I would give it another chance (but even coming down with the flu the wildcat was still a BLAST!) anyway, I enjoyed the Thunderbolt more then the Jack Rabbit. Anyway, I don't care much for painful rides myself.

"Shy One" I was at SDC a couple weeks ago and early in the morning you can do laps on Wildfire no problem, I rode Wildfire several times, I am lucky with my work schedule I have Fridays off so thats my day to go and so far its great as far as no lines to speak of and when there is the wait isn't bad at all, it starts picking up in the afternoon of course but by then I am looking towards heading to Celebration City while its not busy and getting rides on the Wildcat.

Dwane

Shy One -
It is crowded every night pretty much. If you want to go when the lines aren't too bad, GO BEFORE SILVER DOLLAR CITY GETS CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME!!! It almost remids you of the rush to get to EPCOT once MK and MGM Studios closes for the night down at WDW. The lines are long for everything (even the tilt-a-whirl!) The just need more stuff there at CC.

Dwane-
Well we were forced to ride in the back, and I guess the "whip-like" action was even more intense there. I too felt like I was cheated of my precious time of riding Wildcat. To make it worse I had to actually wait in line to ride JR. Oh well.
