Celebration City is Open

Does anyone have the links to the attraction surveys for SDC and CC?
I rode Acrophobia yesterday at SFOG and if that was one of the types of rides they were thinking of adding, I am definately going to vote for that. What a feeling. As for JR, I agree, i hope they tear it down and add a new one next year.
Is it just me, or does the Fireball seem 20 times as intense as it was when it was in BUSA?

The only thing more intense than Fireball is Delirium at PGA - it's a lot taller than Fireball, but Fireball is by far my favorite flat ride in MO.

My future brother-in-law said he loved Delirium. Fireball is a one of a kind feeling, i love it. I just wish it went upside down... now THAT would be cool ;) Oh yeah, I get to go to CC tomorrow, so that will be a lot of fun, hopefully the lines wont be busy at all.

Shouldn't be too bad. Thursdays are usually "levaing days" for tourists, then Fridays are "arriving days".

Usually how bad are Fridays? We'll only be staying for a few hours, right at opening, but I hope it isn't too crowded.
If you are going around 3 or so, you should be able to get in quite a few rides before people start showing up. More people show up closer to SDC's closing time (using their park hopper passes) and will stay around until Celebrate! You'll be fine.

I'll echo Swoosh.
Crowds tend to be smaller from 3pm till 7pm at CC. Lines shorter while the laser/pyro/hydro show Celebrate! is going also.

Definitely recommend seeing the show at least once...it was very cool, even if a bit heavy on the "patriotism aspect"...;). But the water together with the lasers, pyro, fog effects and music was VERY well done IMO...

edit: Fireball, when fully LIT up, is certainly an eye-catching attraction....but once you RIDE that sucker, it'll steal your heart as well.....corporate parks should consider running at least SOME of their flats the way they're run at CC....full-bore!

Jim, since you're here, I'll drag this over from the SDC thread....seems to me there was SOME sort of construction going on across the parking lot from CC...do you know if HFEC even owns that land on the other side of the lot...if not, expansion at CC might be considerably trickier....

Finally, that event sounds like a great time...anyone that CAN go, should!

I saw you working last Saturday Jim, but I couldn't get your attention to say hi. Oh well, maybe next time.

I can definately confirm construction across the street from CC. They were working on leveling that out the whole time I was there yesterday.
Jim, July 26 is my B-Day!! That would be a good birthday for me ;)

Bill,
the Ozark Wildcat crew will sing Happy Birthday (rather badly) to you if you visit us that day. We love to sing.

Ha Ha... I'll look forward to that.
(I liked the hint on the DW coaster announcement page) ;)

I think that the construction across the street is for more parking - there isn't enough right now.

I am still confused as to where they will add attractions/food/bathrooms to the park... will it end up going behind the laser/pyro show?

------------------
Do you bleed Blue?

They will expand into the parking lot by Wildcat, then there's the area by Thunderbolt, and then they will mroe than likely expand on past Shoot 'D Chutes and on past Accelorator.

Well I am excited.
How does a Wildcat marathon sound?

Celebration City will suprise you in 2004.... Silver Dollar City will blow you away in 2005 ;)

Unfortunately, it may be August before I get back down there. It's now getting to be "crunch" time for Summer Semester here at TSU. What was "slow" class has turned into a "hypersonic, you have 5 projects due two days ago" class. :(

Ouch that sucks. Good luck D!

Well that's what happens when you compress a 3 month class into 8 weeks. It hurts at the end. ;)

However to celebrate Summer School being over, we are going on a LONG road trip [MiA, CP, PKI, SFKK, HW] in August. So I think I can hold out until then. Besides me being away from SDC/CC that long will make me want to go to that boring 3rd festival (so that I can get my ornament this winter). :)
