Why aren't people sick of MF?

Two words.

Front seat! :)

I love to see Timbers at two, but will it ever bust through to numero uno??????

How could you say that S:ROS is overrated? Doesn't anyone think MF is a little overrated?

Hey Jim, no suprise in Fiesta Texas getting the Golden Ticket. I think they have received it 4 years now! Great Shows! They have so many and they always amaze us with their talent! You should go there sometime! It is a clean park with very nice people working there. PLUS, SKC made the top 25! Congrats Fiesta Texas, you always treat us so well!

Notice the TOP TEN wood all run PCT Trains! That tells you something! (Something we all have known for years!)

I find this all so interesting.

MF is a one trick poney? Really? 4 airtime hills, 3 overbanked turns, 2 tunnels, and that's not counting other features like it being one of the tallest rides in the world.

I count 9 or more tricks. Do you even know what "one trick poney" means?

-KoRn is the Millennium Force of ROCK-

To all those who still think Hulk is better then my Dueling Dragons put these ratings in your pipe and smoke it....what was discovery thinking making that the number one coaster in the world when clearly Millennium Force (my baby) and Dragons (my other baby) are so much better.....don't listen to me though...look at who got the awards.

Nothing in the world compares to waking up to Millennium Force in the morning.

I'm surprised Expedition GeForce ranked so high

HurricaneGeauga, why do you say that? EGF is an AMAZING ride. It became my number one this year bypassing MF and S:ROS at SFNE. It's airtime is incrediable. It's got a great headchopper in it. The first drop is awesome. It's almost a perfect coaster! The only thing it is missing is a tunnel, but the ride itself is so amazing that I think it still is a number one ride even without a tunnel.

Well, I can't complain, because Viper and Bull both show up on the list, but just barely... :(

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at Coasterbuzz.

Three thoughts:

1. I do think Magnum is overrated, but as Dick Kinzel put it, "It fired the first shots in the coaster wars." I think it will be a long time before it drops out of the top five, but I could be wrong.

2. When is The Beast gonna make it back to #1 where it belongs? I hate to dissapoint you Raven fans, but common! The new brakes do kinda suck, but they took them off of the first hill completely, making the G's in that first turn incredible. They are also a little lighter on the drop before the psychotic double helix, making it even crazier. This ride holds a special place with me.

3. You all know MF is amazing, quit denying it! I've actually heard people say it doesn't have that much airtime. WHAT? Are you kidding me? The first drop, third hill, fourth hill, and bunny hop at the end are perfect. I measure a coaster by intensity, which is why I like The Beast so much and which is why I adore MF.

Partyman:

I don't get to San Antonio too often these days, but if the park is open the next time I'm down that way, I'll definitely peel myself away from the coasters long enough to check out the show.

You know what I don't understand? Why does Magnum get all the credit for "firing the first shots?" Magnum wasn't even the first hypercoaster. There was a coaster in Japan that was built before Magnum and has a 200ft drop.
What was the name of that rentzy387? Loop the Loop was built in Japan in 1981, and it's a shuttle coaster who's drop is 164 ft. No other continuous track coaster was higher than 200 ft. before Magnum was built. I don't know of any type of coaster that was 200+ ft. in 1989. If you can find the name of it and show me the stats I will concede my arguement. Shuttle coasters don't count as hyper coasters. *** This post was edited by Bakeman on 9/4/2002. ***
