Cedar Point announced this morning Top Thrill Dragster, the tallest, fastest roller coaster in the world. The Intamin "rocket coaster," which has been under construction for months, is 420 feet tall and launches riders 120 mph in four seconds.

Not that anybody cares, but man, I don't like the name. Sounds like that SNL skit: Steve Martin's penis creme-'new formula'. I don't know... why not just call it Super Neato Space Launch?;)

Well it looks like a giant penis so I think that fits then :)

I've thought that since they topped it off. Cedar Point is now the most "well-endowned" park on the planet! And Kick The Sky, I seem to remember seeing a lot of other CP ads with people's hands up. I've never seen them actually *enforce* no hands up, its just legal mubo-jumbo to keep the lawyers happy.
And may I reccommend that ski goggles can be as cheap as $20 and would keep your glasses on ;) I wear contacts but I got new ones this season and want to wear my old ones to the park next year just for laughs ... I know I always chuckle when I see someone else wearin em!

Rob, are you *suggesting* that I should "skirt the rules"....instead of my normal routine of just CHASING skirts...;)
Sheepishly, I will admit to having *bent* the rules when asked to remove my glasses....I'll tuck them away and replace on the lift hill. I probably shouldn't admit to it, but it IS really stupid to think I'd want to "ride blind". FWIW, I wasn't able to keep my arms down on Hypersonic, either...;)
This coaster is definitely interesting and it makes Millennium Force look like a lot of fun.
When I first took a look at the trains, I thought of a giant rat or something. They'll probably be cool once I see them in person.
Is CP a theme park now or just a randomly-theme-what-we-want park?
I'm really excited about the news, but I'm disappointed that it's taller than Space Spiral. Oh well, I guess I'll have to take all of my pictures while riding TTD now.
-Danny, who thought this would be Superhero themed to Unbreakable
And I can't wait for Kentucky Kingdom to answer this by making their dragsters climb just as high...

Model coasters and rides
Kick the sky:
Smith brand goggles (which I have), and probably most brands specify on the box whether they're designed to fit over glasses or not. They ones that are designed so, fit quite comfortably over glasses.
Ski goggles are also helpful for rainy rides. No "shot in the face with a nail gun" feeling.

You must be this dumb to ride Viper. -SFGAdv.
Amazing. I never said anything, but before I was thinking this ride would be stupid because of the short layout, but after seeing what I just saw...Wow. This ride might actually scare me. Man, I can't wait to get to CP. On the other hand, $25 million could buy like 10,000 feet of S&S woodie. ;)
