Cedar Point '07 Project

Sorry to shoot down that video as possibly being the coaster that they're building, but some of those supports are too low to the ground where the track connects that it wouldn't be possible for anything but a train similar to MF going through it. That's just me and what I think based on what's in there already.

Oh...and by the way. According to RCDB here http://rcdb.com/id3430.htm the top speed on the Port Aventura version of this coaster is 83.9 mph and lasts 55 seconds. I don't think Cedar Point will let that top speed stand.

"...those supports are too low to the ground..."

I think what's even more telling are those 'Y' supports that hold two pieces of track mere feet from each other. There just doesn't seem to be enough clearance for trains as wide as those that will operate on the Port Aventura ride.

what could it be then?

LOL Swoosh. I know you know and you know I know. The fun part is watching the guessing game ;)
I guess that is better than BENCH:the Ride ;)
I know that you know, and I know that he knows, I also know that I don't know, but I think I might know. Does that entertain you? :)

Whatever it is, enough has been said by plenty of people that someone's going to be eating crow. It might even be me!

Yeah is Good!
I stick to my original guess. Even more so now that there is more track for 'wide' curves being installed. Who knows what those short supports are for? It's not clear in the pics that they are for track. And if they are for track, why do you need two of them so close together?

Any links out there to better possibilities?

The only thing on the Port Adventura ride that interests me (aside from the fact that the average speed on the ride is going to be like 70 mph), is the barrel roll. If you're on the right side, you feel positive G's all the way through, but if you're on the left, it's negatives the whole time.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

A roller coaster with turns. ;)

Mike E, It'd be great to see but you are still missing the obvious lack of 'boxed' track that would be required for any 70+mph ride and to carry the weight of the new wingwalker trains. All track is triangular in the staging and project area so this ride IS NOT going to be high nor super fast. I stick with either an Aquatrax or a Rita / motorbike coaster hybrid with horsey style seats launching to around 60mph.

Hey Moosh...I think those 'y' supports are the bottoms of an 'a' frame support. Other than that, I have no idea and have given up trying to figure this one out.

I know you know and you know I know.

You forgot the "Neener neener NEEEEEner!"

You want pictures of a possibility?

In fact, check out all of the pictures. You will notice the triangular Intamin track, the similar launch track, the single supports holding track at two levels, and the twisting/turning/sidewinding.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Funny, that ride is basically the same color too.

Where is it written that box track is necessary for 70+ mph? I thought box track is only needed for long unsupported sections or sections with high loads on them.

Ok, that explains the :Motorcycle coastal vessel and horse or flight water color track in Chinese you posted earlier! :)
