Cedar Point doesn't care if Magic Mountain has more coasters then them for 3 reasons
1. THey are on the other side of the country first and foremost.
2. At least 3 or 4 of SFMM's Roller Coasters are down everyday anyway.
3. Cedar Point is more of a resort destination etc...whereareas Magic Mountain is more of a local theme park. They really aren't in competition or anything, because they are attracting 2 different types of people.
Magic Mountain attracts people from Southern California, locals, etc. While Disney and Universal attract the tourists.
Cedar Point, now owning all 3 major theme parks in Ohio basically has the power to one way or another draw every theme park tourist who enters Ohio. But nowadays they mostly attract family's from the Midwest/South. As a 3 or 4 day destination place.
Anyway I think it is dueling more and more I see the different supports etc. But I honestly doubt it's a launch coaster, just because they already have 2 of them, maybe even 3 I feel like I'm forgetting one....o well I could be wrong though.
Hold On to your hats could be referring to when you go upside down you lose things like your hat etc....:) *** Edited 8/7/2006 5:46:47 AM UTC by Kyle Fobe***
Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!
a racing coaster is similar to CPs gemini, where you do return to the same station
Anyway I digress, back to CP
Great to see arial pics finally. Its looking more and more like a dueling coaster. Unless its one of those splitters like in RCT3 Wild, this pic looks like 1 track splits into 2.

Surely even Intamin wouldn't try that, lol?
The particular spot might be a key spot for one thing or another.
Judging from the supports thus far, this coaster doesn't even look like it'll break the 150' marker (that might even be too generous) because most of it looks to be low to the ground, based on the supports when angled to where the track is slapped on.
Right, because whenever a coaster has a lot of track near the ground, it certainly can't be tall!

Looks like there could be a little pond added.

I think your right, you will get wet here. I also think by looking at the pictures, that this will be a launched and side by side roller coaster. There is not enough room before the first turn to have a lift hill, unless it's at 90 degrees up and down. Anyone else see this as possibly a re-themed motorbike coaster? I think I saw it a few pages back. I'ts a nice idea, but I think that would make it less family friendly, because the parent cant sit directly next to the child and wrap their arms around them. They could be close, but not close enough for some kids. Just my thoughts.
I posted this over at pointbuzz. I think this ride will be similar to Desert Race being built at Heide Park. Note all of the low to the ground s-bends. The vehicle also seems kind of interesting. I highly doubt it would be jeep themed like that coaster but it appears that the cars are 4 across.

I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't break 100'. Not saying it's likely, but judging from the construction pics so far I certainly wouldn't be surprised.
