Also a new photo update showing off more supports over on Pointbuzz. :)

The AquaTrax doesn't get you very wet. One of my friends has been on the coaster, and says that one some days, the water is even turned off.

As for the reason construction has started so early, rumors strongly suggest that some of the ride will be constructed on currently operating rides - Wave Swinger and the Car ride to be exact - so it could be that they are getting as much done as possible now, so they can focus on moving other rides out of the way during the Winter and off-season.

I haven't been exactly "thrilled" following the construction of this new ride. Well, until those new Pointbuzz pics showed up. This thing is looking insane! That is a LOT of supports, and what's up with the supports in between the supports? I think I am finally interested/excited about what's going on now.

Grrr, I told myself I wasn't going to break down and post anything on this topic, but the newest set of site photos really irked me. I originally went with the "inversion-monster" theory, but now after seeing the supports and layout, I'm going with an "Expedition GeForce+S:RoS(SFNE) with an LIM launch". The AquaTrax coaster looks nifty too, I wouldn't mind seeing something like that. All I have to say is that there are A LOT of supports, especially this early in construction.

I'll make an early prediction in saying that P07 will take the record for being the world's longest coaster (Sorry SD200)! Has anyone said anything lately about the possibility of P07 running onto MF Island, Or has that idea been dropped?

All in all, I think CP is doing a great job keeping the public in suspense. I just wish the track was either orange or yellow. Oh well, come next year I'll still be there to ride it.

The clues "2+2", "A whole new direction", and "Sidewindin" make sense to fit several types of Intamin rides. The whole part about a reverser coaster seems fun, but I don't think we will be seeing it here. I can't wait to see this monster develop and grow!

hmmmm?
"Changing gears - reversing, different speeds, motorbikes (has Intamin done a bike coaster yet?
10-gallon hats - water / liquid - aquatrax?
The winds of change are a-blowin - flying?
I think their mission is to totally confuse us as much as they can

I'm sticking on dueling 'something', not too fast as its triangular track (60mph max), that is unless we are only seeing the end being built at present? Anyone seen any square speed track sections? *** Edited 8/4/2006 8:26:23 AM UTC by ruggerbuggeruk***

Not that I know of, there hasn't been any square track, and there hasn't been any dual-rail track, which I feel is equally as noteworthy as the lack of square track.

Um, Aquatrax folks, care to explain how that bulky, non-OTSR restraint, rather inflexible looking train is going to navigate this:

There's too much track that's way too twisted for me to believe that it's not an inversions-monster coaster.

I am still clueless on why they started so early.

I'm clueless why so many people think early construction is so unusual. Look at the first few pics of Hydra on rcdb.com. Footers poured, supports up, track at the construction site. The date on those photos? August 4.

I know it seems to be a trend lately to start construction late and open rides a couple of weeks or even months in to the season, but I think CF does a great job of having rides ready to go opening day.

Maybe when they say " We're going in a new direction" maybe they mean the cars will be backwares.

I think the pages are this topic are cut appropriately, considering you can get the exact same conversations with the exact same statements on every page.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
I have been staring at this new photo in awe for about an hour. I want to know your comments on this... It screams BIG to me; Maybe launch, maybe racing/dueling. The banked turn near the ground is going to be a real arm-chopper. All I can say is "Bring it on CP!"

Um, ok.

OTSRs - So we have one existing aquatrax coaster and it doesn't have OTSRs, therefore they can never have them. That seems to be your logic. Yet, Intamin seems to have had no problem integrating them on their rockets and chute rides, where necessary (or not).

Sure the current boats would need lots of modifying to add OTSRs, but why wouldn't they do it if they were asked?

Bulky, inflexible trains & twisty track -

Take a look at the picture of the Aquatrax here:

http://www.intaminworldwide.com/i_products_water.htm

There sure seems to be plenty of clearance for the wheel assembly to navigate tightly twisting track without a problem.

I know this doesn't prove or disprove anything, but neither does your theory. Besides, who says an Aquatrax couldn't invert?

Yeah is Good!
I don't know if anyone has brought this idea up or not. A couple of times people have mentioned this coaster breaking the record for the longest rollercoaster and it being racing/dueling. So far the space doesn't look remotely big enough for it to be the longest by conventional thinking. But what if they went about breaking the length record a different way? If it is going to be racing/dueling or whatever, they could just make it one continuous track with two different stations. Technically it could be the longest coaster in the world. Maybe by "in a new direction" they mean looking back into the past and using a type of design that hasn't been done in a long time.

If you counted both sides of a moebius coaster as one continuou track for record purposes Grand National would be the 3rd longest woodie in the world. I don't know anybody who would claim it was.

Any arial pics since the supports have started going up?

Yeah is Good!
true, but I doubt when Grand National was built amusement parks would build rides that are 36 feet taller and 8 mph faster and advertise the hell out of it.;)

I believe I read over at pointbuzz that plans have been made.

how did the idea of a Moebius loop come about? how do you come up with a racing coaster with only one track? Was it just done for novelty or something?

Just looking at the height of the supports in this pic, I am wondering about a station fly-by. Compare it to Dollywoods coaster.

Is this the longest thread in the history of Coasterbuzz? My inbox fills daily with the thread update notices. . .

Is it safe to say that we are all mega fans of CP here????

I don't know if it is the longest but we've already had a couple of other threads on the subject as well.
