Cedar Point '07 Project

They've updated their blog; two key points:

"As you visit the park this summer, put “two and two together,” so to speak."

and

"We’ll wrap things up with a few words of wisdom: The path always taken is not necessarily the best."

I hope he is wrong because I think everyone here wants a coaster that will not pop out and say "look at me!"
Yay, red Intamin track. There's not enough of that in the world...

Certainly not enough of THAT kind of red Intamin track, LOL. But I also HIGHLY doubt the CP track is for a sit-down chain-lift Intamin mega...

...sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)

It is deffinately intamin track based on the the ride side of this picture where you can tell it is their unique triangular track beam. http://pointpics.com/other/project2007/mProject20070005.JPG

That link didn't work for me, but here is the directory of all the photos. Hard to tell what kind of track it is exactly though...

That's why I originally thought this couldn't be true. Why get more triangular (or square for that matter) Intamin track. There's no coasters of that track style Intamin makes that CP doesn't have. The idea of an aquatrax never crossed my mind though........interesting.

So much for the wooden idea. Not that I ever believed that one.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Damn blue tarp!

By the time they announce things, it should be pretty obvious what's going on.

And yes, there's "stuff" in that containment area next to Breakers Express (as if the "rock garden" in Frontier Town isn't obvious enough).

Has any one thought that the Red Intimin tack is maybe for uh...... Top Thrill Dragster!!!!!:):):)

It might just be a hunch but maybe they are replacing some of TTD's track. Just a thought.

TTD does not have any three rail track like that.
How come when anything painted steel with a blue tarp on it arrives at Cedar Point, everyone assumes that it's coaster track? Remember when Skyhawk's top arrived, people swore up and down even when the piece was revealed that it was coaster track.

People are saying that it's turn track, where exactly do you see track in there? I see one picture that kind of looks like Intamin triangular-track (pic 5 in that directory), but the rest of the shape of that tarp could be just about anything. That piece could also just be a support for a sign structure, or a column to hold a station platform.

I would say it's a lot more likely that this thing is part of a flat ride, or is a piece of mechanical equipment ... I highly doubt this thing is track, or is anything that could really provide any sort of clue as to manufacturer.

Someone was perceptive enough to recognize the similarities between the tarp last year and Skyhawk's sister ride topper, someone go look at pictures of the top spin at Knotts ... does this tarp match any pieces on there?

Edit: Well I feel like a real ass. I spoke too soon and on further study of the picture that I referenced, that IS coaster track. Oh well, I'll leave my making a fool of myself out there for all to see ;) In case you don't see it, take a look at pic 5, the shape of Intamin tri-track is easily distinguishable on the right, and on the left, you see a similar "pipe" shape at the top left corner of the tarp, and if you follow that "spine" to the "back" of the picture towards Castaway, you can see the flat-circle of a tower connection. Ok, so the question is, what is it ... aquatrax, or 10-looper or something we haven't seen before? *** Edited 5/5/2006 12:34:24 AM UTC by Impulse-ive***

I honestly wish CP would build another LOOPING coaster. We have mantis, raptor, and corckscrew... Compared to the other 13 coasters that aren't looping. I love MF and TTD but come on...raptor is still voted number 11 in the top coasters. B&M do something right, why doesn't CP see that. They just keep sticking with Intamin. This is just IMO. *** Edited 5/5/2006 12:49:36 AM UTC by raptorman95***

Shocks
Could CP be building the dueling coaster? The latest blog states put "two and two together" sort to speak. We maybe seeing the beginning of an intamin dueling coaster. I dunno just a guess. *** Edited 5/5/2006 1:38:18 AM UTC by Eric_UD***
Two and two together.

4.

I call it as a 4D.

What is the "'rock garden' in Frontier Town?
Impulsive, it's coaster track - wait till you see the 19 footers in the swan boat pond (now refilled). Curved makes sense as well - intamin mega looper and an aquatrax seem possible now, as does the new Intamin 4D. Who knows, I only know it's fun to watch.
