All we really know to date is that there is a piece of metal painted red under that tarp. Any guesses to track type have been just that, guesses.
The one picture showing an outline of the track structure hasn't been verified, but shows only an intamin-style latticework.
Most people are assuming based on bulges in the tarp it is Intamin triangular track, but this hasn't been confirmed.
My guess is this:
A setpoint roller soaker.
If you look at the "roller soaker" at HP, you'll see that from the side, the track appears similar to Intamin's lattice work. You'll also note that the support structure around the curves closely fits the poured footers in the pond (Upon close inspection, you can see that they take 6 bolts just like the poured footers also).
Finally, put 2+2 together and heading in a new direction: The setpoint coasters sit two forward and two backward, which explains both.
It'd be a fun family ride and a welcome addition to the point, in my opinion. It'd also have the water factor that WWL had.
That's just my thoughts, we will see...

Ok, so outside of Universal Studios and Disney, name something at another park that Cedar Point does NOT have...
Is my interactive dark ride still out of bounds? Thought so...
OK somthing like Darkastle at BGW would be an awsome addition, I will give you that.
Read the very first post in this thread, the reason the dude posted in the first place is because someone called him and said red INTAMIN has been deliverd, and they saw it before the tarp was put over it. Also in some of the other pics floating around that actually showed some of the track sticking out....well lets just say that I am an engineer and I know what Im looking at, especially when there are pics of MF and TTD track that are identical in terms of mechnical and joining aspects. I will go so far as to say that if it is not Intamin track, I will never post here again after the ride is announced.

name something (flat ride) at another park that Cedar Point does NOT have...
Do I need to go on? ;) Hey you were the one that started it.
It's hard to believe with regards to the red track, that there would be another "red coaster," right after Top Thrill "D."
Clouded the future is, great thrills I hope to see.

I must say that if this ride is what I've heard it is, all you CP fanatics can rest easy. But it's not quite enough to get me back to that park...yet. ;)
