Cedar Fair Season Pass Announcement Soon

My question is that this year they experimented with the GL/CP two park parking pass. Is there going to be a three park parking pass that includes PKI as well? My feeling is that if they're going to market the biggest advantage of the Maxx Pass is access to the three Ohio parks, why not offer a parking option as well??

It would be nice to know what the price of a season pass at the other parks are going to be now. Is the Maxx pass an Ohio thing or system wide?

Like Greg, my husband and I have Dorney passes that could be renewed. My daughter has a CP/GL pass that could be renewed. However, we will be at PKI over Labor Day which means we could buy and process our 2007 passes and be done with it.

Any ideas on when the other parks might post their 2007 season prices?

$125 is pretty close to what the CP+GL passes costs today, and I would assume it would be similar in the future. So, if you're comparison parks are CP and GL, probably not much reason to think it will be cheaper at either of them.

I would also imagine that there isn't much of a resaon for any other parks to change their current model, because none of them are much closer to one another than MiA and CP are now. But, that's just a guess.

Dorney and PKD could be exceptions, because they have a major population center smack dab between them, just as CP+GL and PKI do in Columbus.

Hmmm, hopefully CP pricing will include Soak City in the mix somehow.

I can see them also offering some type of Ohio parking pass option.

Haven't had a Paramount pass in years...the only one I've ever had for PP was from winning it (and it couldn't be processed at PCar, argh, LOL).

CF, I usually get my pass at Solace, and get a couple visits to other CF properties during the year...parking pass is virtually meaningless to me, but I *am* interested if I can get a Maxx pass for CF/PP for only about 40 bucks more than KBF has been charging me....

I'm sure they will continue to offer the combo pass, which will include all CF-owned water and amusement parks. I'm guessing that they won't be wildly more expensive than this year's $150ish; the early-purchase price went up only a few bucks when GL was added, so I'd imagine they'll go up only a few more bucks relative to the normal price increase that they settle on this year.

We buy the combo passes at CP every year, and get tons of value out of them at CP+SC alone.

In my case I'd prefer to have my pass come from PKI since their perks are much better(admission for the remainder of 2006, free parking for renew and Gold Vs. Joe Cool & Parking add-on). It's too bad that the Maxx Pass doesn't include Soak City because we visit there too.

As someone said on PointBuzz, it should be called the "Not Quite Maxx Pass".

Hasnt parking at Kings Island always been free? I think that is why they are offering this parking options there. I have no doubt this will not apply to Cedar Point parking...that would be too good to be true.
Kings Island has used parking as a "renew now" perk for a number of years. I've long figured that if a major park was going to convert to "free" parking, it would be Kings Island just because such a large percentage of their business is pass-holders who have parking passes.

In an unusual? fit of customer-friendliness, Cedar Fair honored my two-park (CP and GL) parking pass at both Worlds of Fun and at Knott's Berry Farm this season. I have a feeling they were not supposed to do that, but they did, and for that I was very happy. :)

^Did you just flash your pass at the parking toll attendants? If you did that is why you were let in.

No, I have paid for parking 2 of the last 4 seasons. The other two I had a season pass with parking. It used to be $8 regular and $10 premium, but I think it went up last year to $10 and $12.

I didn't flash my pass at WOF and KBF. I handed it to the parking attendant and asked if it was any good.

Apparently it was. When I had tried that a few years ago at WoF, it wasn't.

At Geauga Lake (where it is defined to be valid) they have always given me a special parking ticket, which tells me they have been clocking the use of the two-park parking pass.

O.K. I am a little confused with this new season pass pricing menu.

If you just purchase the Kings Island pass at 75 bucks, are you only able to get into Kings Island and not the other Paramount parks?

This Maxx Pass thing just seems a little ridiculous. Kings Island and all the other Paramount parks are significant distances from the CF parks. Why not just sell the passes at a certain cost depending on the park and allow access to all your parks?

This GL add on and now Maxx Pass really doesn't make sense to me.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Wonderland has begun selling it's 2007 season passes now as well.

The webiste clearly says that the pass will only be valid at Canada's Wonderland.

While it doesn't refer to other CF or Paramount parks, that statement is very clear. It's only going to work at Wonderland.

Now the question is whether they will sell a MAXX pass as well or are we out of luck on using the passes in other parks in the chain?

Interesting... It sounds to me like they are trying to move away from the 'park hopper' perk.

I know it isn't a frequently used feature, but I've always thought a better way to offer this type of inter-park bonus (from a business perspective) would be to offer 50% off tickets for the other parks (or some sort of discount like that). Then you can still offer a perk for pass holders without forcing other parks in the chain to give away the gate.

You can start throwing tomatoes at me now. :)

Putting the 'odd' in Todd since 1976...
If that is the case with PCW, then CF is clearly making a wrong move IMO.

They have had no problem letting people purchase season passes at any of their CF parks and allow those passholders to visit any other park in the family.

Why is it now that they are purchasing GL and now the Paramount parks that they decide to start making season passes a menu item with the option of visiting others?

As others have said, people purchasing season passes are in the minority as far as frequenting other parks in the same corporate family. Just have one price option at each park and allow entry into the others.

PKI and CP are not that close to eachother to worry about where someone goes to purchase the season pass. GL and CP I can understand but still, is it really that big of a deal?
