Cedar Fair Season Pass Announcement Soon

rollergator's avatar
Went to CP Monday, PKI Tuesday. I thought they had "fairly equal" crowds, but that PKI's was considerably more *spread out*. The only LINE at PKI was for IJ, whereas CP had people "bunched up" at Skyhawk, TTD, and MForce...

This offseason will prove "very interesting"...(Arte Johnson)... ;)

Speaking of top seasonal parks, what are the current top 3 or top 5 for attendance? I remember years ago, it was CP, PKI, & SFGAdv. I think SFGAdv no longer holds that spot, as SFGAm beat it a year or two ago.

What are we looking at now? PKI, CP, & PCW? *** Edited 8/9/2006 8:56:40 PM UTC by rablat5***

coastin' since 1985

Say what you want about Six Flags, but they had it right. You could get into to all of their parks on one season pass at one point. I remember you could get a Wyandot Lake season pass for like $69.99 and a family of 4 for $125 and this included all of the parks. I believe this was 2000 or 2001. It might have changed since then.

I know previous to that, when you purchased a season pass from Wyandot you also were able to use it at Geauga Lake and had discounts at the other Premiere Parks. Wow....that was a loooong time ago.

It is a great deal for us, but they are really underpricing themselves with such an amazing value.

If you count PCW it's (2005 numbers):

1. Canada's Wonderland
2. PKI
3. Morey's Piers
4. CP
5. SFGAdv

If you stick to USA parks only:

1. PKI
2. Morey's
3. CP
4. SFGAdv
5. SFGAm

Kind of odd that I said this on another website and now it can be used here

"I think it's more of a chain charging for what will be used. How many Dorney pass holders go to other Cedar Fair parks. The Cedar Point pass without GL is offered but if you want GL you pay extra since it is so close. Kind of a way to make sure that you don't get a CP pass and go to GL a lot unless you pay the upcharge."

I wouldn't be shocked to see a PKI upcharge next year also. Or any other close parks be upcharges to a pass to a nearby park.

3. Morey's Piers

Snip...

All I can say is WOW That was the most unexpected item on that list. I know the boardwalk in Wildwood is busy but I never saw that coming.

What I wonder about Morey's is how they track the attendance as there are no gates. I know they could count wristband sales but I doubt they sell millions of wristbands a year. Does someone who visits the pier and buys tickets for only 1 ride count? Or what about a family where the kids go on the rides while the parents or grandparents sit on benches and don't ride anything, do the non riders count as well especially since unlike a gated park, they did not pay to enter *** Edited 8/11/2006 4:05:30 AM UTC by YoshiFan***

The "Maxx pass" sounds highly marketable in Ohio....wonder how that will play out in the OTHER markets...you know, where there's no real benefit to having *crossover parks*...

Remember, the GP doesn't travel like, well, some of us do... ;)

The big question is though, does it include parking at CP and GL too?

While I would love to take a spin on the Beast this year for free (since I would be paying for a 2007 pass) being from Toledo means I will be going to CP a whole lot more and being able to buy a parking pass there is going to be a must.

Unless the GP is in Missouri. It is not uncommon for the GP in Missouri to visit all three parks in Missouri each summer (note I am combining the HFEC properties all into one).

I would say that if the situation in MO was the same as OHIO where all the parks are owned by one company, there would be a huge influx of maxx passes.

Wow. Guess all we need now is a CF and SF Season pass to have a great year.

Also, THis answers the question i guess the paramount parks WILL keep the Paramount part of their name for the 2007 season.

^dont you mean a CF pass and a HP, AB, HERCO, or HW etc depending where you live

(Sorry had to go for the SF jibb)

Yeah lol, Well usually when I go to other parks I just visit for the one day since i go to alot of different parks across both Canada and U.S. The other more family non-chain runned parks Usually don't have other parks or aren't part of a chain and usually isn't worth it for a season pass since I'd only be visiting once and even if there was another park chances are I wouldnt be visiting it. But. for me the CFMaxx Pass and SF season pass would be COMPLETELY worth it having PCWo and SFDL as my home parks. Heck 12 CF parks and Who knows how many SF parks next year(Obviously, less then the amount they have now)

THAT is an deal I can't pass up. YEAH BABY!

Right now I am happier than a tornado in a trailer park!

^Gotta love the movie "Cars." ;)

Here's to hoping that the CP version of the Maxx is similar in cost. I don't think I can get my parking pass on a PKI pass.
What I'm interested in is what the pricing at the parks that AREN'T that close to other CF/Paramount parks ends up being. For example, CP/GL already had the (sensible) arrangement where a pass good at both was more expensive than either pass individually, but the Dorney pass (which I have) is a flat rate good at all CF parks.

So, will that continue to hold next year, or will you still need to get a "Maxx" option at Dorney (or King's Dominion) to be good at both "traditional CF" and "Paramount" parks?
