B&M parts at SFOG!

Syntax Error - congratulations on the AU victory...obviously we would have preferred a rematch so we could clip the wings of the War Eagles, but we'll be happy to play whoever shows up in Hotlanta next weekend. I know this assumes a win over UT, but if Phat Phil assumes they'll lose, why can't I..;~)!  The Tide is indeed rising.  Thanks for the vote of confidence, we DO have the football here in the SEC, even if there aren't many SEC fans here at the Buzz...IF the Mighty Gators take care of business Saturday (and with TWO blimps here in town this morning, how could we not), and in the SEC Championship, THEN we get to smell the roses.  Provided all that works out, playing Miami will be no picnic - their offensive line SCARES me...of course, I don't have to play against 'em.

Oh, almost forgot, COASTER site...Yes a flyer will be great, but as I have stated before, an S:RoS clone would be MY preference...I think the B&M's are just TOO smooth.  I wanna FEEL the Gs....

Sethman:  I think you're not quite clear on my speculation on that new inversion.  If you enter it from the top in flying position and dive down you end up ON YOUR BACK at the bottom of the loop.  Therefore the greatest Gs force rider's bodies into the seats and not into the restraints.

Of course this is only my guess...knowing B&M it could be anything.

I would expect this new inversion to be that corkroll that AIR has.

Did you guys ever think that AIR's world's first might be the same as SFOG's???? something to ponder

WCUSA-The World's largest theme park is coming!
Theme parks will NEVER be the same!

According to the rcdb, the new coaster will be shorter (height and length) than the Georgia Scorcher. I'm not saying that that will make it a bad ride, but I was expecting something bigger than that. But then again, I was hoping for an Intamin Hyper.
Their is another construction pict here: http://sfogeorgia.tripod.com/id92.htm
going through a loop in the flying position wouldn't have to have intense G forces.  B&M can engineer the loop so that it only pulls one G on the rider all the way around, which is no problem.  It just takes a constantly changing radii curve.  The slower (higher) you go in the loop, the smaller the radius and vice versa.  Remember, coaster designers are in control of all the G's everywhere on the ride.  They can, will, and must calculate all G forces on every foot of the track and make changes if there is too many or too few G's for that secion of track.

What fun would it be going through a loop that pulls only 1 g?
What  fun would it be to go through a loop that pulls 6?

SFMM Season Pass 80$ drink 10$ ripping of six flags by coming back 100 times Priceless......
Well, lets see. One g would be forceless and six g's, well, that would be intense.  From what I have heard, that Schwarzkopf in Houston pulls almost 6 g's going through one of its loops. I hear that it is quite a ride.
Maybe it's a raven turn, or an immelman.  Starting flying or lying.  Doesn't matter, it would be tight either way.

You guys still don't seem to get the "inverted loop" idea. You do NOT ride on the outside of the loop and there are NOT extreme Gs. You ride on the inside, just like on any regular loop. I'll try this again:

Draw a regular, normal loop. Now turn the paper 180* so the top of the loop is now the lowest point. The track at entry and exit is inverted, which means on AIR trains and riders are in flying position. You enter the loop and dive head first and end up at the bottom on your back. All G forces are INTO the seats and not the restraints. Then you climb, going back into flying position and leaving the loop.

Got it?? LOL! With my luck it will be something completely different and I will have done all that for nothing.

The upside down loop could be a possibility and probably a very good inversion but I doubt to see it on a first generation ride. the vihicle would also need a lot of speed to make it through the inversion. It would be pretty intense, I wish it could happen.

BTW, mamoosh I understood your concept of the upside down loop in your first post, I just did not consider the fact that the G's would press you into your seat.

Sethman:  no worries.  I really didn't explain it all that well the first time anyway so I can understand that some people were confused.  Glad you got the first time.
i found out what elements the coaster will have.....

Elements (In order):

Inclined Drop

Pretzel Loop (First in world)

Spirals Horseshoe

Highly Inclined Curve

 Inclined Roll

Where did you get this information? Could you explain these elements?

I got the info from http://sfogeorgia.tripod.com/id92.htm

and a pretzel loop is a a immeliman/diving loop.

Those pictures are awsome.  I like the colors.  I cant wait for it to open.

A pretzel loop is NOT an immelman/diving loop. You'll see when the park reveals the layout.
It sounds like to me that this pretzel loop might be some variation of the first element on a SLC.  (whatever its called.)  It looks like a pretzel and might be a very interesting element on a flying coaster.  Of course, we'll see when the info on the coaster is released after the first of the year (that's what I heard was the time frame for the announcement.)
