It's also always possible to have both big kahuna & B:TE built in the same season, the waterpark opens a bit later in the season so it'd be easy for them to get both rides up & running by peak season if they were to start now.
Batwing fan, I really think SFDL would rather keep the go kart track as it brings in lots of money to the park. It is usually very crowded.
At this point, a new coaster is much more important to the park. And as said before, they could get both the waterslide and the coaster built this year if they hurry.
...it just seems so out-of-place. There's like maybe 3 trees total in that area. It's so in-the-sun & considering that attendance has been dipping every year since 1999... it might even be good to get rid of some of their campers... if not, they could always move them. That spot would be perfect for a small, but worthy expansion area as they could extend the midway in that area & add the coaster as well as either keep or modify the go-kart track.
The Brutal Planet is nothing big... they push a few shelters together & there you have a haunted house. In 1999 & 2000, they had locations that varied in the picnic grounds... so it's not as if that was always its pernament spot... that spot is mainly used for STORAGE of Brutal Planet & other fright fest stuff.
It all depends on what the park feels is necessary... expand the park's midway out & make a whole new section that's many acres more than before, or sacrafice a few dozen open-sun RV camper sites in order to open a small new mid-way for a mild expansion?
ORRR... #3) do a little ride-shuffling & squeeze it in somewhere where the park currently resides... which could be messy & cost us another flat to sit in storage forever that's sorely needed at the park.
B:te for SFDL!
Both of which require a huge financial input of which would be STUPID because the coaster would be HIDDEN & obstructed by the Batman building & Viper. It'll never ever ever happen... ever.
Again, most logical spot is beyond Superman. They can put a new set of CLEAN bathrooms there, another food shop (or two), and have it ready for the possibility for future expansion of more flats to convert the area to a Superheros area. They can also make it full circle by connecting it to the small path around the other side of Predator so it doesn't just come to a dead-end.
It'll then be a ride people can see approaching the park as well as help their overall skyline & therefore attracting new attention to that area... not to mention potential revenue generated by other food & game shops that could go up in that area (to take up space).
Oh wait... I gotta think Shapiro's point-of-view... ok, well... since it'll be full-circle around Predator, the strolling characters of Bugs, Daffy, & Tweety can now walk all the way around instead of going back the same way they came... more areas designated as "no smoking", and new bathrooms for the new attendants they're going to hire.

I guess only in a perfect world... but I tells ya, it would make a worlds of difference, that's for sure.
I do agree that the most logical spot would be up by Superman and make a true superheroes section of the park up there. They could easily connect the walkways and make a truly nice section of the park. Put some games in and add some of the super hero characters in that section. It could turn out very nicely. Pus you could see the new caoster from the entrance. Then just move the Batman show over there and you have a perfect themed section of the park....maybee a flat ride too.
