Also, Carowinds is scheduled to announce sometime this month.

/me keeps his hands crossed and chants "B&M! B&M! B&M!" but knowing Carowinds, it might not be until 2004 at the earliest. :( SFoG is rising very quickly over Carowinds and IMHO Carowinds must act quickly to add a variety of rides, be it family rides, a giant B&M hyper, I don't care, something new and unique would be nice.

I don't know who said it before, but someone said BGW is getting a new themed area, France. Okay, well I don't know about you, but that park is simply beautiful and down right amazing. I think they are really due for a Woody. Hell, Put it where Drachen Fire is. I think that's the only thing missing from that park. It would fit in perfectly because to me, woodies are a lot better looking than steel coasters. A wooden coaster, in those woods, wow. That's all they need.

About the Sfwoa hyper. I'll be pretty pissed if it's not Intimin and it does end up being Morgan. If Sfm does send it back up, i'll be mad but I guess it's alright cause any hyper is good. But I was just wondering, Jeff, didn't you say that the "people who know" say it's going to be an Intmin?

Enthusiasts aren’t the only people who enjoy Coasters. The GP does enjoy getting thrilled/scared by a new coaster. Coasters are a really big reason why people go to CP and other parks can be included in this statement to. But parks do need to balance out their attraction selection for people of all ages. The better selection of attractions a park has the more crowds it draws, which means more money for the park. In my opinion it’s a Win, Win situation for everyone.

I have a question...why would you build and ship a coaster (especially a hyper or b & m)to a park that had not received approval to build it? Usually that is one of the first steps, why design a ride you can't build. Especially after the V2 change, you would think more emphasis would be placed there. Did I miss where they had been given approval to build at SFM but it was revoked?

If they can't build it there, I think it should go to one of the less fortunate Six Flags parks. I do agree SFWOA eventually should get a hyper, but let a less fortunate SF park get this one.

(And I am now waiting to get bashed by all SFWOA fans :)

Was it something along the lines of it being in the final stages of getting approved, but they started land clearing to soon?

Wait no more....

SFWoA is lacking a signature ride, a tall ride, a long ride, an amazing re-rideable coaster that will draw people in. They need a coaster that is either unique or just a great coaster that gets rave reviews from enthusiasts and the GP. There has been an empty feeling in the park for a long time, a feeling that can make the park feel like it is missing something.

Also its an intamin, the 2002 hyper was meant to be a Morgan, that got deported to Mexico, the 2003 hyper is an Intamin, think like S:ROS but more airtime. also CP better be building something big if they want to get attention away from "the competition" because 2003 is going to be a big year for SFWoA.

Think MM;)

Agreed. Guys, look at how many flat rides there are compared to roller coasters. They cost less, their ROI margins are higher [afaik, prove me wrong if you like] Yes roller coasters are a big selling point, BUT families don't want 100% coasters. I can say from my experience [mom] that she always drags me on those little flatrides when I would rather ride the coasters. If a park had only coasters, would I ever have a chance to go there with my mom: zero, nil, null, zip. Of course this does not apply to some, but I can imagine it applies to most. More flat rides actually mean, usually, LESS lines for the popular rides, if the condition is right.

pkifanatic: Since you're not going to PKI, then I'll simply replace you. So no loss to PKI.

ok what is pki putting in!Thats all i wanna know

See! Point proven! Money, money, money, and more money. That is all you people think about. Profit. PKI wouldn't go out of business because 100% of their rides are for coaster enthusiasts. Look at Ceder Point. Are they out of business? No. Do they have losts of enthusastic rides? Yes. I know what comes next..."Yeah, but King's Island gets more attendance." Yeah, if you look at a biased attendance chart. King's Island has a great kid section going for them. They need nothing new for the kiddies. If they did then they wouldn't have won the Golden Ticket Award. Add a coaster and get it done with. That is all I ask. One simple coaster. Heck put in something like Millinium Force. A none looper. That will get people to ride it.

Oh yeah, your stright. Thank you for calling me an ass because I support my opinions and beliefs. Gee I thought we lived in America. The only ass here is you. Instead of Mamoosh you should try DaDoosh

You're forgeting that America isn't exactly the land of the free yet(any country that still contains over 100,000 slaves should not be even be considered), and this struggling utopia will never have true freedom if certain people keep abusing the rights and privelages we already have. If Americans wont perform the duties they are required to do(pay taxes) and responsiblities they are supposed to do(vote) then why do they strive at abuse the rights given to them?

Also tell me what 13 year olds have a real job? What 14-16 year olds are saving up $100+ for theme parks and holding on to it until the summer. Rarely do the teens put in tons of effort to work hard for their money and spend it on a ticket to Kings Island. Now a day it's just " Like Daddy, can I have, like, five hundred dollars?"

Ask any Cedar Point fan and they'll tell you that Cedar Point isn't all coasters. Sure, it's a big chunk of it, but there's a lot more to it.

And brotha, he don't have to change the name because Mamoosh is cool with me.

I dont want to flame you or anything, Vertigo, but i am a teenager (18) and I bought a season pass this year for kings island and I live 6 hours away from the park. Have a little bit more respect about teenagers that will eventually govern this great nation in a couple of decades.

Ditto, I'm 16 and I have to work and save my money to buy my amusement park tickets. My parents will let me go as long as I pay.

I agree with you coaster-freak! I have been working at the same place since I was 16 and I am now 18. I know the value of a dollar and I purchased a season pass this year at MIA, use my own money for my stuff and rarely bum money off my parents. If I do bum money of my parents it’s sure as hell isn’t for $500, it's not even for $10!

Ya I'm arguing too I did have a job 2 months after I turned 14. I was fired because of scheduling problems, but still I had a job. Anyways, I agree. I am not dissappointed about next year's Scooby ride, but who said we aren't getting a coaster. I know it's most likely another Huss Giant, but I will take any new ride. I feel sorry for SFKK who hasn't gotten a new ride since 2000 and it was a wild mouse (still a coaster but still) I just believe that we have it better PKIFanatic, if you don't wanna come I'll just go twice as much next summer, it's your mistake your gunna miss 2 great rides and a fun summer. Sorry to see your so biased to any ride but roller coasters. I assure you will be happy in 2004 (if we get what I want oh so very badly.) By the way I bet we will see PKI's attendance go up again next year like it did this year. Won't be to long until we hit 3.5 mill a year :)

Ok, back on the original subject, I don't know if it means anything but at PKD, if you go to the top of pipeline peak and look to the left, you can see light blue intamin track lying there. I will take a pic of it when I go back September 7.
im 14 and i work at a bagel place, i bought my own season pass, and i pay for my own food, and my own souvineers from other parks, the only thing my dad does for me is drive to the the park. so dont say that 13-15 year olds dont know how to manage money, alot of us do.
PKD already announced that they are getting a 305 ft gyro drop.

i am emo

Blue intamin track has been spotted at PKD?

That's most likely for the rumored 2004 hyper,we already know PKD is getting a whopper of a dropper for 03 =) and it's about time they add a hyper as their next major coaster to compliment the 2 other great hyper coasters in the region.

Ah, Vertigo... before I pounce (if there is even a need to pounce)... please explain the above.

-----------------
Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

I think fueling the fire on that entire post is a bad idea ... Vertigo, what exactly were you thinking with that one? Most of your posts aren't so blatently ignorant (and yes, both definitions of ignorant)
