Already August- New Ride Announcements?

I know that PKI has already announced their Scooby ride, but what about other parks? Whats the hold up? I am very looking forward to Cedar Point, b/c everyone thinks they know what they are building, but guess what? Nobody knows until they announce! I am also looking forward to Holiday World's announcements! Although sometimes small improvements, every little thing seems to satisfy me just fine, even new bathrooms!
well i have a new ride announcement for SFFT but im not supposed to say anything. The only clue ill give you guys is that they already have a ride with this company and the ride is probably the most popular at the park....thats all im saying!

I don't expect many announcments for a while, especially for seasonal parks. There is still a good 1/3 of the season left. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of rumours starting soon.

Well you have to remember that when SFMM made their last big announcement, it was December!

I'm with ya there! But I would prefer if my home park got a ride/coaster. If they go a different route and make a general improvemnet then I'm just fine with that! "Rome wasn’t built in a day" nor was Cedar Point!

I'm hoping for a path behinde Wolverine Wildcat and mabey a new ride at MIA!

Kinda funny, the darn thing (x) still isn't open! :(

PATIENCE young jedi. Some parks announce early, some announce late. Those parks in which some type of construction/destruction is already taking place announce early because people will be wondering what is going on. For those parks where nothing has been done yet, they will announce later this year. Most Six Flags parks announce beginning of the year, so look for those announcements beginning of 03. CP doesn't announce until later in the year, at least thats what they did with Wicked Twister.

Yes, PKI anounced Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, but they have yet to anounce the ride that will sit on the former King Cobra spot. I`ve heard that future PKI ride anouncement(s) would be happening in August to boost 2003 season pass sales.

Well I doubt it will boost pass sales if it's just a Giant Frisbee.

Could we be seeing an B&M Invert at SFFT???

I'm hoping for a B&M floorless or an intamin impulse for SFA in 03.

I can remember when Hersheypark put in Lightning Racer the official announcement was not made until the very end of August. While it is August, it is only the 5th... pretty much of the month is left.

Have patience.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

Why worry about next year already??? Why not just enjoy the rides that are out there now. Enjoy riding now, and when the announcement comes, it comes. Seems everyone keeps focusing on something new no matter where you are. If the park gets a new ride, it gets a new ride, if not, still enjoy it.

Come to think of it, that is the only "Six Flags" park without an inverted coaster. Seems like Batman will be cloned again.

Viper423: Why worry about next year already??? Good question. Sad thing is, you could have asked that same question back in May. I remember quite a few threads on "What is [insert park name here] getting in 2003?" when this current season was only a few weeks old.

Patience is a virtue... or so they say.

Its still erlie in the season, most parks wait till the end to announce becuase they still neeed guest to come in this season, and remember Nitro?, it wasent announced untill it was already built, and almost a month or two untill it was set to open, or even less then that. If anyone knows there homepark well enough they know if they are getting anything or not, and that all that really matters at this point, ,but by jan we will all be dieing to know whats up for other parks if it hasent been anounced yet, and there will most likely be one or two parks that still at that point havent even said anything about what they are getting, and yike! im already talking about Jan!,and its Aug.

I don't think SFFT is getting an inverted next year, let alone a BTR clone. I would look for another type of coaster there, personally.

And Mike, about not worrying about next year just yet, you're right. But a big part of this hobby for me, at least, is what's on tap for the upcoming year. That's not to say I don't enjoy what's out there now, anyone who knows me knows I do. But a little wondering/speculating can be fun as well.

Now get out there and ride stuff before it closes for the season (just where the HELL did summer go, exactly?)!

It tastes like burning.

I suspect either a B&M hyper or flyer at Fiesta Texas next year. But its just my geuss.

A guy at PKD's GR office showed me the memo they had sent out to employees regarding the confirmed new ride for next year....I know it's not "news", but I did get to see the specs, and it's one heaping helping of a drop ride....:)

bill, saying Dan Burns gets some special props for the assistance he gave us....thanks Dan!
