In a Wednesday interview, former vice president Mike Pence argued that Florida governor Ron DeSantis’s support of a bill that stripped Disney of its special tax status was a departure from his preferred vision of limited government
"That was beyond the scope of what I as a conservative, a limited government Republican, would be prepared to do," Pence said.
"I fully supported the Florida initiative to protect kids and parental rights," says fmr. Vice President @Mike_Pence. "@Disney stepped into the fray. It takes a couple minutes to get going, but that dentist skit was hilarious! Being absolutely petrified of needles I both laughed and screamed out loud at the same time with that first needle gag.
I have watched a few Carol Burnett skits here and there after seeing her guest star on the final season of Better Call Saul, and everything I've seen has been hysterical.
Tommytheduck, love ya man, but I can’t believe your introduction to Carol Burnett was Better Call Saul. 6 Emmys and 23 nominations later… Maybe musical comedy variety series weren’t your thing, huh?
But it points to her versatility. I’m a Law&Order SVU fan and possibly my favorite episode ever was the one with Carol and Matthew Lillard guest starring in “Ballerina”. She received an Emmy nomination for that serious, murderous turn and deserved to win.
As for Tim Conway, he was certainly one of Cleveland’s favorite sons and along with the rest of the cast was a comedy genius. If anyone was ever going to cause a full cast to break up it was him. Well, everyone but Vicky Lawrence who came up with one of the funniest adlibs in TV history. After Tim upstaged everyone with his lengthy elephant story during a Mama sketch, all Vicky had to say was “You sure that little asshole’s through?” She killed everyone.
To be fair, Better Call Saul is the most notable appearance of Burnett's in many years. I mean, her SVU appearance was 14 years ago.

I’ve come to believe that you can find some version of L&O on tv anytime of day or night, 365 days a year.
I keep it on for company, and sometimes Jim will come home and say “Jeez, haven’t you seen that one a a million times by now?”
Yup.
But I’ve learned a lot over the years. Like don’t send your kids to Hudson U.

Social Security is a popular program despite what a few Republicans say. Even if they did manage to pass legislation to end it, they’ll keep it alive for those of us who have paid into it already because the bill would never pass if they did. I’m cynical about a lot of things but not this.
No one is suggesting it be ended. They want to raise the retirement age as it has not kept up with the increase in life expectancy. They also need to stop giving benefits to every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes into the country. That’s not what it was designed for. It was designed for retired people and it needs to go back to doing that and that alone.
Cool first post, dude. (Unless of course you're an Alternate Identity for one of our Frequent Fliers.)
A principle in Florida was forced to resign after failing to send a letter to parents informing them that their 12 year old would see a photo of the statue of David in class. While the specific bill wasn’t mentioned in the linked transcribed interview, DeSantis IS mentioned in context as a reason.
The slope is getting awfully slippery in Florida.
Weird how the flag waving defenders of freedom are using government to tell you what you can do with your body, what you can read, what teachers can teach, what you can say, who you can openly be while making it harder for you to vote.
