Do your parents & friends think you're a little to

robvia, I do the same thing, my girlfriend will slap me. It was really bad on Christmas Eve (at mom's house, the whole family there) when Danny "CoasterDan" Biggerstaff came on screen and I named him before the caption came on the screen.

My mom is convinced that I will die on a coaster one of these days. She reads all the media hype and swallows it hook, line and sinker.

My friends are not into coasters at all, well one works at DCA, but even he is nowhere near sa obsessed as I am. Then again, all of my friends are obsessed with Everquest, a game that I find incredibly slow and boring.

I have a co-worker that I have taken to SFMM twice, he is becoming a convert. [evil laughter]

My whole family gets sick of hearing about coasters. "Harrison, if you say "coaster" one more time, I'll ground you off of the computer for two months!"
My friends think it is cool that I know so much, until I start a 3-hour speech on them. Then they start snoozing.
When my friends' parents talk to me, they say "Wow, you really know a lot about coasters!"
My teachers all say something to this effect "How do you get through all of the hours of homework I give you, when you know so much about coasters and you obviously study them 24 hours a day?"
To sum it all up, they all say, nicely or meanly(are those even words?) that I am OBSESSED!!!

My wife gets tired of me talking coasters. She would rather ride them then talk about them. But livign in CO means we do not have many to pick from and the few to pick from are LAME. So I talk about them all the time and travel every other summer to ride them elsewhere

My friends hate when I talk about coasters cuz I will say something not even realizing it. ex. wow look at that helix!!! they think I am nuts.

I guess I'm lucky. Both of my parents are full enthusiasts themselves. Both have ridden just as many, if not more coasters than me.

My parents think I a too obsessed. My other realtives just ask me about coasters. They know I love them. I have one friend that loves coasters as much as me. All my other friends marvel at everything I know until I bore them and they tell me to shut up. I have one really annoying friend (more of an enemy) that thinks he knows everything and spouts millions of false facts. I hate that kid. My friends parents just laugh when I talk about them, they think I am some genius or something.

My parents are divorced but,my dad thinks i am crazy for riding coasters.He is scared to death of them.I have to thank my mom for my love of coasters,she is the one who started me on them and,if it werent for heart trouble i bet she'd be rite there with me today.My husband,he thinks im nuts for researching and learning them as much as i do but, he knows how much i love riding them and how fascinating the science and technology of them are to me so,he doesn't complain and,he loves riding them to.My husband even asks me during coaster shows what rides are they showing and where is it located but,i haven't been researching long enough to be able to do this every time,lol.My friends,they know i love coasters but,most of them have no clue that i know more then just riding them,i don't use what i have learned to impress anyone.I pretty much keep to myself with what i've learned unless someone asks me and i happen to know the answer.I pretty much only talk to other enthusiasts about the details and,one of the benefits of learning this stuff is i now understand what ACE members are talking about,lol.

My wife thinks that I am nuts when it comes to coasters.The only coaster that she ever rode with me is the Ice Mountain Toboggan at Enchanted Forest near Salen ,OR.I may me getting older ,but I refuse to grow up!

At least everybody is like me. I am NOT wierd, yay! Well my firend actually is converting after I informed her. Then all of my other friends are scard of them, geez.

My parents are actually kinda cool about it, but some of my friends give me some real trouble. Good example happened at lunch on the last day of the year. A bunch of my friends and I were talking about PKI and the topic favorite coaster came up. Well one of my friends said that they liked both Vortex and Adventure Express. I said "so you like Arrow designs, huh?" and after I told them who Arrow was, they all burst out laughing.

o yeah definitely. good thing my dad likes them almost as much as me or they would be pretty worried. my friends dont care cause i dont talk much about coasters with them im afraid i would confuse the heck out of them.

I agree with you rickyswmn and most of you on here. People think I am a little too obsessed. I am glad that my son has the same love for coasters as I do, because he's the only one that understands. :) My 9 year old son is the same way as me. Makes his dad proud. The rest of my family pretty much like coasters too, but its like rickyswmn said I don't tell them about all I know about coasters. If I did they would really think I was nuts. I am nuts, so I guess I don't have much to hide. I could be much worse, and caught up in other things that aren't as healthy. I think its a good obsession to have, and I am a proud coaster fanatic.
