Do your parents & friends think you're a little too obsessed? My mom does, everyday se asks me why I like them so much and why do you have your wall covered in SFMM and Kennywood parafanelia. Same with my friends. My gf once asked one of my friends if he liked SFMM as much as me, he replied "no way, it's impossible to be as obsessed as Brent." I thought that was funny.

I need to hook up with some other coaster enthusiasts that are somewhat close to my age. It is difficult to get "grown-ups" to go with me to ride coasters. They think I am a little nuts.

i thought i was the only one!!! man every time i talk about coasters at all my friends just give a look at eachother and they all say at once "OBSESSED!" its funny how they all do it at once without planning, but i dont have anyone to talk to about this kind of stuff. the forums at coasterbuzz are my only TRUE friends.....
Yes, people may think you're strange, but once you meet some of the other enthusiasts, you'll feel quite normal!:) Seriously, join a club or talk to other enthusiasts at your homepark and you'll find you have a lot in common.

im reading some post on this forum at least ur freinds and family egknowlege you!lol my freinds are somtimes into that summer mood of talking about making plans to go. but other wise there like in dec why are you talking about amusment parks lol. my parents try to take me to parks but the its hard becuase my works nights and my dad works to hard so im left alone but when i go i go so i dont complaint but the whole way there i have to hear about the money situations there ganna be in after this trip! ugh its cool thou . and yes my mother dose think im obsessed and my dad tells me why dont you focus on getting out of high school first! its hard to find peopel who like coasters as much as i do! very hard! i ad one freind but we are no longer freinds due to reasons! the only think i can do now is try to get my freinds in to them wich will never happen!
I too quiz my buddies in line about what kind of coaster we are riding, stats on the coaster, etc. I at least give them choices some what like the millionaire game giving them lifelines etc. :) It passes the time and they actually retain the information whether they like it or not.
My parents and friends all think I'm crazy... I did, however, recently convert one my friends!
When I watch those coaster shows on tv, the wife and kid will be next to me, and I'll name every coaster the second it appears on the screen. Like at the beginning when they have a whole bunch of them strung together with cut shots. The names just pop out of my mouth as I see them.

When I am at lunch my friends have fun asking me the height of the lift, top speed, who made it etc. However, one of my friends is starting to get hooked.
My mom says "You're always doing somthing coasters."
I say, "It could be crack!"
I've also had my friend, who is the coaster nut who got me in to coasters tell me that I'm crazy. He tells me I need to seek help. I'm begining to thing he's right... :)
