Welcome to Winterseason at Phantasialand, it is so pretty :-). Btw, Germany has over 4500 Christmas Markets, each of them are basically a themepark with great food, hot wine and rides. Well worth a visit
But back to topic. The park is giving some love to there 12 year old River Quest/Rapid Ride which is right next to Taron. The lifthill will get the "Klugheim" theming and the entire ride will get an update. Back in the days there was a freefall element, but the German Tüv did not give there permission to use that element without seatbelts. It will be interesting to see if they came up with a solution to actually have a River Rapid Free Fall come next year.
Also, more mysterious footers showed up, second coaster? We do not know...
A lot of new buildings are being, well, build and the coaster will go right thru them. Headchoppers galore!
Wow, those Christmas decorations are beautiful! Germany itself is a magical place to be during Christmas. The Germans love the holiday and those Christmas markets are just a wonderful way to get in the Christmas spirit.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
The worst kept secret is now out: Phantasialand just officially anounced "RAIK" on their Facebook Page,
It will be the "largest" Family-Boomerang coaster in the world(whatever that means)
That is a lot of coastertrack for this small area. It will be interesting to see how they can pull it off(which they will, knowing the parks trackrecord in the past decade)
The park is open until January 17th, so I wanted to wait for a update as construction halted 2 weeks for the holidays. But they are progressing on a rapid pace now...
Funny that you asked today about progress as this just arrived at the park a couple of hours ago...
We might see construction of the second coaster start any day now...(Pic from Phantasialand official blog)
The village of Klugheim is taking shape with a lot of new buildings
A lot of new buildings....
Parts of the construction site is getting cleaned up and trees/shrubs are added as you can see in this partial overview
If you are looking way towards the back, you see a unthemed area, this will be the station for the second coaster Raik. This construction site changes on a daily basis and thankfully the park is open 2 more weeks, so I will add another update for sure before the Winterseason is over as we will not have pictures after that until late March :-(

I love this picture, so of course I wanted to share it. This area will be stunning when finished. I am hoping for a Summer 2016 opening. School Break in the State Phantasialand is located at is the second week of July, so I am thinking that is what is what they are shooting for...
Rumors are that the Race to Atlantis simulator (housed in the epcot style dome) will be demolished after the Winter season for the next big project. We will see... In the meantime, enjoy the picture and imagine walking thru all this mess (pic from nrwfreizeitpark)
Pretty as it may be, I can't say that I'm particularly interested in riding it.

I'm sure it is, but I think Germany is probably worth the trip to Germany.

We're charting Europe for 2017, but not sure if it will include Germany yet. We're kind of bent on the UK and Scandinavia, but that could change.
