The issues with SS needed to be addressed awhile back and for whatever reason they were not, and now we are at this juncture in the history of the Point.
That is really a shame because Space Spiral could still be a wonderful ride for the entire family. The Sea World San Diego Sky Tower cabin looks great and if they could refurbish Space Spiral for one million or less, that really wouldn't be that bad of a value, would it?
Von Roll as a company doesn't exist anymore, I believe they were purchased by Garaventa and then Garaventa became part of Doppelmayr of Austria. Doppelmayr's business is focused on ropeways (ski lifts, aerial materials transports, etc.) and is totally out of the amusement business.
Another Von Roll ride at CP is the Sky Ride. It's a Von Roll 101, not to many of those around anymore, and most of the Von Roll 101 ski lifts in Europe have been decommissioned. It's pretty old technology, and I really hope when Sky Ride reaches the end of its life they replace it with a modern Doppelmayr or Poma system.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Is a flyer 200 miles away really reason to not build a flyer at your flagship park? They both have hypers, drop towers, Huss giant frisbees, multiple woodies, inverted shuttles, etc. etc. etc.

I agree it's meaningless. But, when Superman/Steel Venom/VooDoo/Possessed was built, it was a Six Flags park.

Interesting that this coaster will travel into the parking lot. I believe he's referring to how they had to send Leviathan out over some of the car park area.
The huge roller coaster will dominate the front gate and the track will travel over a large parking area at the park.
“We have several coasters that cover parking lots,” Ouimet wrote. “Not necessarily ideal, but certainly acceptable given tight site constraints and the amount of land such attractions require.”
