My only question is will they turn that area of the park into a "totally immersive waterpark experience". There is real theming potential for a waterpark as anyone who has seen Disney's Blizzard Beach can attest.

"Our guests are in for a real surprise next season," hinted Craig M. Ross, Paramount's Kings Island's executive vice president and general manager. "It is going to be amazing. If you are a fan of WaterWorks, you are going to love what we are unveiling 2004."
It seems like it is just a new water park. All this hype for a water park... grrr...

It seems fairly obvious that it's a bigger, better water park that's replacing the current one... I don't see anything else that water park fans would love other than another water park.
