Well, when we left SF (San Fran, that is) last time, I swore we'd get back....who knew then how SOON the trip was going to have to take place...I was SO bummed about TT coming down, can't afford to risk it...even with modifications, the legal environment in CA isn't exactly *conducive* to a ride of this nature...

Zinga, Zonga....where are these names "headed", anyway....;)

Seems like a lot of parks are getting new coasters. Who knows what that world would be like in 10 years?

The trains will have the lap bar and weird OTSR. http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery818.htm?Picture=15

The track is not going to be modified that much. Still expect the G's to be very high but out of the 6 range.

"That rumor is about as accurate as the ones about the Pretzel Loop being redesigned on the new Superman flyers. "

No, it's more accurate than that. You'll see. Six Flags truly doesn't want more of the bad press that's been brewing over this "6+ G force" ride. They are doing everything they can think of to reduce the G forces. That's why the trains are being shortened and the beginning of the ride reprofiled.

California is Markey's feeding ground. Markey says that Riddler is too forceful at 4! Sure, G-Forces are cool, but this ride still has two classic great moments. 1. That twisting first drop. 2. The parallel first two loops. SF calls them "circles", which means they'll be relatively circular.

On another note, could I see a picture of an "accordian restraint"?

NorCal Kid... those are not the restraints Zonga will have, I'm not sure where you're getting that information, but trust me, they are completely different OTSRs than other Schwarzkopfs.

And yes, Fierce Pancake is correct in that the coaster is definitely being reprofiled. I'm not exactly sure how much reprofiling will take place on the first two loops, but it has to be a nightmare for whomever is doing that with that mess of supports!

This is great news. I've been fascinated with this machine ever since I saw a picture of it from Oktoberfest. Very cool!

Oddly enough, last I heard there's a good chance the new OTSR's could highly resemble the old OTSR's from Premiere trains that have mostly been removed! Haven't seen any pictures though, don't hold me to this. And seat belts will be installed almost positively, it didn't have them before.

I'm just glad I can say I've ridden this ride in the past how Anton intended it.

This is a great time for Schwarzkopf masterpieces.

1. Whizzer saved and still giving rides at SFGAm

2. Viperlight'nin'wave to give rides this year at SFKK

3. Zonga-Tornado to give rides this year at SFMW.

For those of you interested, I've posted a second rendering of the coaster from the animation that will be released soon hopefully. Also posted is the Zonga logo. I wouldn't expect a March opening - April is more likely.

Thank you for that insightful information Legendary! LOL It is amazing the wealth of insider knowledge and information you have! ROFLMFAO - PIMPL.

Glad someone finds you funny!

About the changes in forces...I'm assuming they're going to need new track pieces? I wonder who is going to manufacture them. Is Anton's son in business of fabricating track too or what?

Joe, not an insider.

EDIT: Brian, thanks for posting the images! What a great shot, Intraxx really has gotten a lot better at this stuff! ;) J/K Badnitrus did an awesome job as usual. Any idea when the animation will be released on the site, Brian?

Nice Name and Great Color scheme...Interesting how when Six Flags makes a coaster with a new original name very few comment on it...

Sweet animation! I’m really glad to hear that this Anton masterpiece is getting 2nd chance at life and another shot at thrilling thousands! Lets just hope that this time around more people exit the ride clapping their hands, rather then rubbing their necks. AND Markey, keep your hands off this one!

Joe, I'd be a bit surprised if Wieland was contacted about this coaster again....Intamin would kinda make sense to me, but then again, I know nothing. Like Arrow/Morgan doing the SP/PR thing, I'd guess that Intamin would be the logical choice to manufacture track for Zonga. That being said, this is SF....;)

Chi...agreed wholeheartedly. Could enthusiasts be any luckier than to get two Antons back up and running in the same year....to the GP, they're just GREAT coasters. To me (and a lot of us here), they're ANTONS.....:):):)

I love when I see parks getting refurbished Schwarzkopf's. I love them. They are just fun coasters, IMO.

I'm with Rollergator- I am very happy to see and Schwarzkopf ride come back to life- and land in my state. ;)

I've only had the pleasure of two Schwarzkopf rides- good ol' Montezooma's Revenge (got my 100th ride today!), and Greased Lightning at PGA (not so impressed with the weight drop- I'm spoiled by Monte). Both shuttle loops are cool, but I'm ready for a full-circuit Schwarzkopf masterpiece!

California Screamin- it's good!
