Any idea where Zonga is going in at SFMW?
And it looks like I also will be returning to SFMW in 2003... ;-)

"Sit down, enjoy much airtime and put your feet IN the fire!"
"He's gross,... He ain't gettin' none of this!"
"Some track segments are being worked on to reduce the G's."
Translation, the round loops might not be so round in the future.
Removing the last car of each train will reduce the speed and g-forces a little, as well.
Haven't seen what they have in mind for the new harnasses, but the accordions sucked and the Schwarzkopf OTSR sucked even more, so third time's a charm perhaps.
No, and it also sounds like it's getting a bit of a bastardized custom job that's going to make a substantial different ride experience than what Anton Schwarzkopf first sculpted. Time will tell if they're good or bad changes (how often are we enthusiasts happy with reprofiling?), but this ain't going to be Thriller anymore.
The new paintjob seems kind of nice, I'm glad they're keeping the different colored loops.
Hey Jeremy--
Unfortunately, I'm not *that* much of a linguist...
But ever since we named our water park "Splashin' Safari," I've wanted to give a ride a Swahili name. Cool language!

Are they seriously tweaking the track, or is this just a rumor? I'd personaly hate it if they removed the 6 G glory from this beast.
Stupid question: what does "Zonga" mean?

That rumor is about as accurate as the ones about the Pretzel Loop being redesigned on the new Superman flyers.

CoasterFanMatt: Zonga will be in between Medusa and Roar, however it will be more towards Roar. It will be almost along side it, where the tram route is.
Dingo 65: Yes, they are tweaking the track and the trains.

Sounds like the station for Zonga will be along the same cul-de-sac as Roar and V2. There is enough room there for the coaster if they changed the tram route and walkway from the parking lot.

Sig under construction!
And who else would have the balls to build such an intense ride other than the single greatest steel coaster designer?
I am sure this ride will cause a lot more pleasure than pain.
superman, I guess you haven't been playing along have you? The ride is being modified to provide a more comfortable ride, starting with the first two inversions. BTW, I've never had a problem with TT, it was a terrific ride.

What is up with the Six Flags parks opening their new rides well after their season begins? I can tell you the answer: the majority of he GP will view the commercials for the new ride, and assume it is up and running, and go to the park. They get there, the park's attendance goes up, are unhappy that it isn't open, but what does the park care? Their attendance went up, and they didn't even have to get the ride up and running! When do you think this ride will be open? Two to three months into the season? Pathetic. Well, that's the end of my griping. I'm really excited about the new ride, but this is really going to make the park look cheezy with THREE parking lot coasters crammed up against eachother in one spot. Aah well.
