I was thinking the same thing Jeff. I know it'd been a couple of years since I last rode X-Flight, but I didn't remember the ride they were showing in the animation.

I personally like the new name, logo, and color scheme. Hopefully, KI will have a better track record with it thank WOA/GL did. It always seemed like it was constantly down when I visited the park over the years, (out of 6 visits I've only gotten 2 rides). Can't wait for Memorial Day weekend.

Where'd the 14 come from? I thought Firehawk was #13? Or did I miss one...

According to RCDB:

- They already list Firehawk in the count

- They do not list Avatar

...the only thing I can think of, short of a typo, is that KI is including the Racer as two coasters since one travels backwards...but to me, that's a big stretch. ???

If they looked on rcdb before december it would have had King Cobra in the count even though it was in storage. However, rcdb now has it as closed as of 12/2006 and no longer listed as in storage. Is it being sold or scrapped or relocated?

Another missed theming opportunity. While sitting next to Flight of Fear, add a few small buildings (money making shops & food), and come up with a CREATIVE name (which Cedar Fair is the worst at) and Boom! you have a new themed Area 51 to the park.

Firehawk is a Rivertown name.

The poor theming continues............

I actually like the name and the logo, but I am not sure that they are the best fit for that particular ride.

Actually, Firehawk would be a great name for a set of Flying Scooters.......

SFA often runs Batwing with two trains using two stations. As long as the ops are moving, this seems to drive people throught the line pretty quickly. My guess is that this is how KI will opperate their ride: 2 trains on 2 stations. The only reason Batwing seems to have a line is because the ride is always breaking down, if KI can keep the breakdowns to a minimum, they should be all set to go.

Sadly from what I've heard it looks like the days of 2 train ops from 2005/2006 will be a distant memory in 2007.

Batwing will be back to it's typical single train operation again this season...ohh well it was fun while it lasted though.

I would have called it Fear of Flight

Where do you get your info? My sources say quite the contrary...

^Or FireFox, like the Clint Eastwood movie (sadly not a Paramount movie, but a WB movie.)

I love the Firehawk logo.. I'm wishing the Paramount parks had an online marketplace so I could order a Firehawk sweatshirt.

I guess it looks like they are dropping the "paramount" name as well. But the movie names of the rides will stay as they are.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

They are stil in negotiations. Everything is still up in the air. The only changes you likely see this year will be sinage changes and such.

LOL.

If they drop the paramount theming rights then can anyone say power tower will be the default replacement name for DZ?The bigger question is what would they rename V:TBC?

Yes I heard it on screamscape about the single train op for 07....and knowing the history of the ride & it's problems it wouldn't suprise me if they're proven right for once.

Did anyone else find it funny that in the 13 industry leading roller coasters out of the main ones to be shown was Runaway Reptar? Even though MANY people HATE those contraptions! I guess this also means they include Beastie in those 13; that or Little Bill's Giggle Coaster, LOL! ;)

My correction, they include BOTH of those coasters in the count. LOL. World class all right...... ;) *** Edited 2/6/2007 4:17:20 AM UTC by DantheCoasterman***

^^Why would they have to rename those rides? they can do away with any of the movie tie-ins and just keep the name as a generic name. What movie is V:TBC themed after? I didn't think it was.

I didnt even think about that one, good point ;). However that movie came out long before Firefox the browser was around, it was a cold war era film where Clint had to sneak into the USSR and steal their newest fighter: the Firefox, a plane that went twice as fast as anyother plane, was stealthy and was controled directly by the pilots thoughts. Actually quite the enjoyable popcorn action flick, and I think would fit in quite well with the area and the ride, too bad its too old and the wrong studio though.
