What coaster is more rough than..

Viper at SFGAdv was a ridiculously painful ride. In only about 45 seconds worth of ride, you'd feel like you had just lost a boxing match against Mike Tyson ! It's was worse than any wooden coaster I've ever been on.

The Boss at SFStl is very rough, it killed my back. So the horrbile stories are true that this coaster needs some work done.

Man I have NEVER hurt as much as I did when I got of that POS...er SOB....man that wasn't much better was it?

Put me in the group with everyone else who can't believe someone thinking Phoenix is rough. the only rough part was my but bouncing back down on the seat from all the airtime!

Roughest for me would have to be Viper at SFGAdv. You know its a bad ride when the only good thing you can say is that its a short ride. I heard things popping in my neck that I never heard before! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

I thought SOB was rough, but I stuck to non axel seats, so it was bad, but not THAT bad.

Oh I have to add Hurler from PKD to the list. Ouch!

I haven't rode the Astroland Cyclone (yet) but I can't imagine anything being rougher than SOB, Psucklone (SFMM) or 75% of all woodies. ;-)

A lot of you said Mean Streak at CP, when I went about a month ago, it wasn't that rough. I meen yeah the ride is a piece of $hit, and should be taken down, but I've been on rougher.

The Boss at SFSTL is pretty rough sometimes, but I think a couple PTCs would do that thing wonders.

A little TLC to the track wouldn't hurt though.

The Dipper: memphis Kiddie Park Cleveland Ohio has the worst. In all serious, that ride husts more than any other coaster i've ever been on.

The Boss is very intense. If it weren't for the painful restraints, it wouldn't be nearly as bad. Soft, cushy seats and buzz bars would make it great. I rode it in its first season and again earlier this summer, and it hadn't really changed at all. It was a bit rough from the start. It hasn't gotten any worse. Combined with the intensity and the painful restraints, it comes off as a rougher ride than it really is, IMO. I love it though--great ride! Some day when it comes time to extensively refurb or replace the trains, I bet they'll go with PTC's or something "new and improved."

The last time I went on the Coney Island Cyclone was 3 years ago and it was as smooth as glass compared to:

Son Of Beast
Mean Streak
Hercules
Dania Beach Hurricane
Gwazi, which by the way is a horrible ride unto itself.

Then we have a ride like "Lightning Racer" which makes you fall in love with wood coasters all over again!

Dania Beach Hurricane? Interesting... that's one of my favorites partially because it is so smooth and fast.

SLFAKE: There is a spot on the Villain- I forget where it is- that really does a number on your back. Last time I rode it, I learned to "lift" myself off the seat to prevent it from sending pain up my spine and into the back of my head. That said, the rest of the ride was a little shaky in some spots but never to the point where it was unbearable. SFMM's woodies- those are rough!

Ok this is a steel coaster but, super rough. Manhattan Express in Vegas. Ouch!

Mean Streak is smooth compared to any of the wood at PCW.

Manhattan Express is the biggest P.O.S. ever created. Unspeakable things should be done to that coaster.

1) Having to position your body for the different elements in the ride.

2) Grunting and straining throughout the ride. (i.e. Vortex PKI)

See, I think I'm a little more tolerant than most...INTENSE coasters that shake me up a bit I'm OK with...sometimes more than OK (see: Tx Giant, Beast's helix, etc.)...:)

On woodies, I forgive more, I guess some lower back pain I can tolerate....headbanging is NOT soimething I can tolerate (see: old Premier launches pre-retrofits).

Something like Psucklone, I ride it because it's SO funny that they KEEP running it like that....and there's always someone in the group that needs the credit, LOL...

That being said, I think WG's Cyclone might have taken the title of roughest woodie I've ridden (esp. in row 3), but I'm more than a little weird...so.... ;)

I'd say so, Gonch. I've ridden Coney Cyclone many, many times over the years and never found it rough. No jackhammering and little to no shuffling. I did, however, find it very intense with extreme laterals and airtime.

But we all have different levels of toleration...one man's smooth is another man's rough, eh?

Cyclone at SFNE...rode it last night and got shaken up more than ever before. It was one of the scariest rides I've ver have because it was impossible to tell when you were going to be thrown around like a rag doll. I never knew roller costers could have speed bumps in the middle of a drop either...

What Six Fgas has done to the Riverside Cyclone is unspeakable. That was once a great wood coaster, now its a mere shadow of it former self. Sooooooooo sad!
