I'd have trouble calling CI Cyclone rough unless they took the padding out of the train. What could be rough while riding a livingroom couch?
One thing about woodies is they can be rough one day and great just a few hours later. Seat to seat can be tremendously different also which is why I don't ever post an opinion till I've at least ridden the front and back row.
Rebel Yell was also Very rough when I rode it but it was still a airtime machine unlike Racer at PKI.
Chuck, who likes to ride wood, Rough or not.
Did I say that?
The Boss at SFSTL is pretty rough sometimes, but I think a couple PTCs would do that thing wonders.
Not really - remember they had to use PTCs from Screamin' Eagle for the press day event for Boss because the G-trains had not arrived yet. The ride proved to be even rougher as the PTCs accentuated every little jostle even more than the G-trains do currently.
Hercules (may it rot in hell)
Cyclone SFNE (I remember riding it when it was first built)
Wildcat at Lake Compounce (needs to be retracked)
Rolling Thunder SFGAdv (aka Rotting Lumber)
Son of Beast (they can burn this 1 down)

With THOSE trains, even the "evil clone" at SFMM would be tolerable...best.trains.EVAR!
That being said... SOB is the roughest ride I've been on... I waited all day for it opening day 2004, it was down almost every time I went to ride it... but I finally got on after walking across the park 4 times and a 3 hour wait... and the great thing was, it left the station and started out smooth as glass. the first drop was nice and smooth, makeing me wonder what everyone was smoking saying it was rough... then about 4 seconds later... I knew why people said it was rough. Oddly, the loop is one of the smoothest parts.
Sorry... I sometimes go on and on... my bad

I noticed the train shaking on Zues but I was Airborne so who cares? Zues cracked my top ten and I will agree it needs some work.
I drool over the idea of Zeus running with new track!
Psucklone (SFMM)
Mean Streak
SOB
70% of the woodies I have been on. ;-)

But we all have different levels of toleration...one man's smooth is another man's rough, eh?
Yeah, it's all subjective. Most of the coasters that people routinely name as rough, I either didn't mind (Viper at SFGAdv, TOGO standups) or actually enjoy (boomerangs, Arrow loopers, Manhattan Express)
I think there's only a handful of rides that I didn't enjoy solely because they were just so damn rough - and even a few of those (like Flashback at SFMM) fall into the area Gator was talking about - it's just so ridiculous that it becomes funny.
To this day the most uncomfortable, rough, kick-your-ass-and-make-you-cry, never doing that again even for a Klondike bar coaster I've ever done was RC-48 at Morey's. There was absolutely no redeeming quality about that ride.
I find very few rides so rough I won't ride. Heck, I loved Williams Grove Cyclone precisely because it was just so wrong...lol. I rode the dreaded back seat more than once on my visit.
FYI, contrary to reputation MTR is not rough. Chaffed at times, yes...but not rough ;)

Note: Rye's Hurricane ITSELF wasn't the problem, but the restraints, OUCH they sucked! The ride is the worst of any of its kind, but the headrests were downright ABUSIVE...:(

...that Gwazi was awful. I returned in 2003 (can't find this trip report)to find Gwazi the equal of any CCI in the US.
So, I ask ye, Florida buzzers...how's Gwazi running nowadays? I shall be making a return trip to BGT on September 9th (SheikRa!) and would like to know if I should bring the Advil or not.
Rode Desperado when it was over 100 degrees outside (mainly so I could say that I did it.) Rough, but I did enjoy the ride - twice.
Viper at SFMM? WHY do folks still enjoy this ride?
Roughest Woody I've been on is the Texas Giant at SFOT, but even so, it was quite a bit of fun! I think part of the roughness was due to the fact that I had never been on it before and my frist ever ride was in the dark, so I had no way to really know what was coming next.
