What happened to Turbulence?

I was on the Hersheypark website today and couldn't find the link to the Turbulence stuff. Has anybody been in Hersheypark lately? Have they torn down GIANT WHEEL yet? Pictures and/or info are appreciated. *** Edited 12/7/2004 3:20:13 AM UTC by Coasterjosh***

Wow. That's weird... It's usually right on the front page of the site. I even clicked rides, and it showed Storm Runner's announcements.

I wonder if the plan fell through..

I just used the search function on Hershey's website and Turbulence produced no results. Wierd.

Giant Wheel is gone, though I can't remember where I saw the pics. There were pics on one of the sites of its dismanteling...

The press release isn't even on their sit anymore

It seems as if the plan did in fact fall through... hmmm....

Wouldn't it be a little late to decide to scrap a ride. Interactiverides had this on their site for months before hershey announced it saying that a north american park was getting it.

Who knows, maybe someone accidentally deleted *all* the files that involve Turbulence. Unlikely, but I don't think I've seen a park just "scrap" a ride after it's been announced and everything. Perhaps they're redesigning the website? Or renaming the ride? Who knows. The possibilities are endless...

Mayhaps Hershey is updating the Turbulence section?

They'd leave the old stuff up then. It's not like you have to take it down to update it.

Yea, its odd that EVERY mention of it is gone from the site. Maybe they are just renaming it or something, because Interactive Rides still has it listed on their site in the press releases.

That's from the town of Hershey I think, the park's site was indeed Turbulence-free.

Maybe...(wild idea here) they didn't quite scrap it...perhaps they're going to change the plans and get the taller version (and more complex layout) of the ride. Just a thought...

No it's not. Go to www.hersheypa.com and see for yourself. It's the main page for the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts company. Why else do you think Dutch Wonderland gets its own spot on the front page? :)

Well, I emailed the park so we should either see it reappear on the website or get a reply within 48 hrs...

Anyone ever consider that it could be something as simple as some sort of technical issue with the site that forced them to revert to a pre-Turbulence version temporarily?
