One of the girls had a cute little kitten named kitty-kitty, the other girl had a cute little puppy named Chris, and the third girl was a republican.
While I have yet to contact Hersheypark about this matter, I was able to get in touch with a contact at Interactive Rides who was “surprised” by the rumor and said that the ride’s design is complete and at the fabricators. The only snag they knew of so far happened some time ago when they had to approach Hersheypark for help dealing with an increase in the cost of steel fabrication on the ride that they were not anticipating, but as far as they knew "we are still proceeding with the ride and have not heard anything from Hersheypark to the contrary."
Yeah, it could be easy PR, but this half of the rumor is just as valid (if not more so) at this point than the other half.
Or a post actually in this thread:
BigJim4Life said:Ok I just called Hersheypark, their guest services people...they said that the coaster will STILL be coming to Hershey, and that the information should be up on the web as summertime comes closer.
Just wondering why at this point (not to say there isn't something up) everyone chooses the cling to one anonymous source over people who have talked to the parties in question?

Do you think maybe, just maybe someone at Hershey decided "Hey... you know what... we are planning to upgrade / revamp / retheme (call it what you will) Carrousel Circle into Founders Circle, giving it a 1920ish retro feel. Maybe this is not the best place to put our newest 21st century coaster."
If I were calling the shots, that is what would be running through my mind. I mean, what says Retro and Nostalgia about a "1st of its kind", 150ft tall coaster? I'd personally be thinking seriously about moving the Ferris Wheel from Midway America to Founders Circle to take the place of the now defunct GIANT Wheel and placing Turbulence somewhere else.
Dorney Rules said: I did see some Hershey Bear signage.
Hershey Bear signage as in the hockey team (not to be confused with the Great Bear coaster)?
And if it was for the hockey team, what was it... request for prayers? (Last place in their division... 26th out of 28 teams in the AHL... Going 0 and 16 against the Philadelphia Phantoms last season and so far this season)
I don't personally think anything is up at this point, but hell, stranger things have happened so I wouldn't be surprised if things did go goofy.
I just find the immediate reaction a bit humorous. At this point it's little more than a non-event and there's people already discussing what will go there instead.
Can I prematurely nominate this thread for "Best Group Reaction To A Non-Event" of the year? ;)
No web sites for local news have anything relating to this story.
However...
Someone at RCDB evidently believes the rumors. All references to Turbulence on their Hersheypark section are gone. (Not that RCDB is always 100% correct... after all they constantly referred to Clementon's Tsunami as Sunami up until a few days before it opened)

Hope my Ferris Wheel relocation comment did not place me in that group. That's only what I would put there. Said that from the day it was announced that GIANT Wheel was leaving... still say that today.
I never realized that relying on stuff posted on the internet was logical.
Its always about you, isn't it SLFAKE?
Yep... pretty much.
Besides... IF Turbulence is cancelled, perhaps I can sell my on going idea of LIM launched Bumper Cars to Hersheypark.

Let me just restate, I have no clue, I barely care - but based on what is known (not speculated), there is no reason to even give this a second glance. To me this isn't about who's right, I find it an interesting study in jumping on the bandwagon with little provocation to do so.
Screamscape claims Interactive Rides said: "We're building this damn thing"
BigJim says Hershey told him: "We're building this damn thing"
The website removed obvious references to the ride, but the press release is still there.
An anonymous source claims (spread third person via several websites) that the ride is no longer and that the CBS news in Harrisburg will cover the story tonight.
RCDB no longer has the ride listed.
That's all anyone knows at this point.
So what happens if WHP-TV doesn't run the story? What if they do?
Still seems a long way from 'something' when the only two quotes from the parties involved both claim: "We're still building this damn thing"
I find humor in weird places :)

No one claimed it was. In fact we were saying just the opposite.
SFMM - Psyclone
PGA - Grizzly
SFDL - Predator
SFGAdv - Viper
NYNY Casino - Manhattan Express
Unfortunately they're all still listed. Oh well, one can hope ;)
