CP's Deuling Flyers?

Dueling flyer's are a great idea. If CP did that, they wouldn't do it wrong, and everything custom with new elements. Flyer's are a cheap gimmik, Air sure isn't, but S:UF is just a lame design.

Yes, Moosh, it is sinking into the caves below the island. And don't forget the changes they are making to TTD. At least thats what the Dippen Dots guys brother in laws friend told me.

If this is true, I'm sure of one thing...I won't be running to the park like almost everyone else in Ohio to be the first to ride. Besides, don't they have enough metal in a place that is named after a tree??? Sheesh!!

Seriously, Air is the way you design a flyer. Unfortunatly CP lacks any terrain.

I do think the Superman flyers are good, they just lack any landscaping that would make the ride great.

I can see a dueling flyer, it would help with the slow loading for capacity and would add some interesting moments where you are face to face through a loop.

If they are dueling flyers, I think a face-to-face barrel roll (in same direction) would be awesome. Actually, just about anyway I can think of making a dueling flyer would be awesome. Though I must say, out of the 3 flyers (2 Vekoma and one of the supermans) I didn't find any of them all that great. I'd much prefer a GCI woodie.

Uh, GCI hasn't announced anything yet. Can LR be beat?

How about they replace Mean Streak with a dueling woodie. :)

Seriously, you could do so much with a dueling flyer. Im into the idea.

Watch people get dissapointed when they only build a single tracked coaster next time around, yay!

Once again..is screamscape that reliable? A dueling flyer? C'mon...boring. I would bet that a floorless would show up long before a flyer. And it of course what ever the park elects to plug in would be record breaking somehow...inversions, height of loop, something...maybe a world record for capacity.

I don't think Dragons topped a single record but it is a great pair of rides.

Dueling Flyers is an interesting idea. Building two takes care of any capacity issues that there might be. Add in CP's operation standards and this could be a real people pusher, a la Gemini pre-2004.

What happened in 2004??

We all know that Hydra is just to test before CP gets theirs, ala Xcelerator.

Too bad Screamscape specified B&M. Just think how much fun dueling Volares would be!

So you're saying that CP will also be getting another inverted, a top spin, a Gerst. spinning coaster and a floorless in '05? Wow, you're an optimist.

Just because it goes in someplace else in the chain, doesn't mean it's a "test bed" for the Point. A floorless would be "point"less for them when there's one just down the road at a park they already own which kicks ass. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think a floorless could possibly be "original" enough for CP - not with Mantis already there.

Flyers will seriously plummet in popularity in the next 10 yrs...
Cedar Point needs a nice mid size woodie...Blue streak is awesome, but a little small. mean streak is just too big for its own poor good now. Those stupid trim brakes just ruin it!
They need something similar to the villain.
But a flyer? bad idea.
Every coaster at CP is awesome and/or unique in its own right. They need to keep that up.

I just realized something. Prior to 2002 (Wicked Twister), CP never had a single launched coaster. Strange.

Dueling flyers? I'll beleive it when I see it. Although, Jeff has been quiet in this thread so far, and he's often 'in the know.' Rumors also have them removing White Water Landing for this new coaster, which I have a hard time beleiving. It's a popular ride, has high capacity (for a flume), and is the only log flume they have (RIP, MillRace). Sure, Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls can hold their own, but there's something about a good log flume that the GP just loves! And hey, who doesn't?

Im calling duel Floorless (or how about 1 floorless, 1 Suspended?) in 06', and a traditional 500' (or at least get the record back) coaster like MF in 07'. At least tahts what I pray happens! That would be amazing! Or should I say 'Absolutly Amazing!'
