WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! I seriously can't wait!

I guess with the tiger near it its safe to say its gonna be a whole new theme area. Looney Tune area cleared out for a new jungle area? That be rad. And tiger island put in there. Just an idea but this is great. However, it will bring more knuckle heads to the park. *** Edited 9/22/2004 12:10:25 PM UTC by Crashmando***

Ok, forget the announcement of the coaster: the most interesting part of this is that the background picture looks to be one of Dragster? So either Keith finished his animations for this ride early and they used that, or somehow Cedar Fair allowed them to use a picture of TTD to market their ride? Any opinions?

Can you prove its TTD? Is a picture of TTD like protected? I mean I have a lot of pics of it. So if someone took a pic of TTD and then said SF could use it wouldn't the pick belong to the user or was it Intaim who said they could use it.

So, the park that could not keep an evolution or jump running is going to add a coaster that proved to be unreliable in Ohio, only a bigger version?

That's been the million dollar question for a while super7. Crash, no technically taking a picture of those coasters could be considered copyright violation. Same way as if someone took a picture of you, you'd want compensated if you were used in a promotion.

I can't completely prove it's TTD, which is why I asked if Keith finished his animation for them early enough that they could have used a picture from his creation for this promo. But, look at the support structure, the cross-members and top connection all look the same, the twist is the same, and it looks to me as if there's an elongated nose on the train in the twist - all of which point to a TTD picture doctored so that the lights can be taken off (which would be easy enough since the colors of the original wouldn't matter for that promo).

I would really love to know how much of an impact Dragster REALLY had on the bottom line at Cedar Point.

While I enjoyed my one ride there are plenty of other coasters I would go back to Cedar Point for. Dragster itself probably wouldn't be the impetus for a return trip.

It is an awful lot of money for something that may not be a "sure thing".

I also will be there the day it opens. I already told my boss I'll be calling in sick that day.

That's the whole basis for my argument. I'm happy to see the park getting a new coaster but I can't help but worry that a ride that CP can't seem to get running right after two years is going to be an operational disaster at SFGAdv.

TTD has been pretty constant this year. So maybe Intaim fixed the problems with TTD and thats why SF bought one?

I'd assume the contract was signed 1-2 years ago if the coaster is opening next year.

I'm pretty sure the park (or at least some park I've been bored enough at to read the whole map), in the map or brochure, prohibits the taking of pictures (maybe just for commercial purposes?) of the rides without written permission.

If not 2006. This coaster could make Tsunami look as though it debuted on time!

Regarding whether or not it's an image of TTD; who trumps who regarding the image? Intamin or Cedar Fair? Intamin developed the ride, but CF 'produced' it. I would think CF retains the rights on images. Also, seeing as the image is cloudy/blurred, could it be an original image that just happens to look like TTD, or an image that basically isn't worth suing over because of such an arguement? okay.. I'm rambling now....

There is no elevator shaft/pole as on the picture on the invite as seen in this picture from rcdb.

There's also no Christmas Tree lights, but the thing that really piqued my interest about the picture was the elongated nose on the train coming through the spiral.

This has been brought up multiple times, Gonch and I went back and forth on it I remember a while back. No one seems to be able to give a definitive answer on it. Because if you incidentally take a picture of a "copyrighted" structure while trying to take a picture of something else, are you violating copyright law?

Strange subject. I'll give SF the benefit of the doubt and say it's a picture from Keith's upcoming animation ;)
