Hey, thanks for the homage! ;)

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
This new coster will hold 3 world records. Tallest...Fastest...and most downtime.

I personally think the whole "Is it TTD?" thing is silly, but...

Regarding photos you've taken of rollercoasters at parks - no they're not yours to do with what you please. I'll spare all the technical legalities for now.

If it were legal to just up and use any photo you take at an amusement park photo sites like coasterimage and coastergallery would be making a hell of a lot of money selling their photos online. Trust me, there is a demand for pics.

I'm sure even Moosh has to jump through a lot of hoops and talk to a lot of people to throw together the pics for the sdgreetings calendar. It's not a simple as "I took the picture, I can do what I please with it"

So, no, SFGAdv couldn't just get someone's pic of TTD and use it on their advertising. That's not to say this is or isn't a photo of TTD and that it is or isn't perfectly legal.

Confusing enough?

Oh yea, that was definitive ;)
I can't believe this wasn't in the works around the same time as TTD. I also can't beleive that CP didn't include a clause in the contract saying that Intamin would not design a larger coaster for x number of years.

On the upside, one has to wonder how far we are from 500 ft. That is, if this one hasn't already done it! :)

My God would you guys get off of it. Geez ok, it's another rocket coaster and it may have problems but you'll never know until it opens and breaks down on the first run. Until then, be happy that they didn't get a Cotton Candy ride or something Cheesy. It's not like you guys paid for the ride and you're the ones who are going to have to fix it. This isn't going to be your burdon.

If the ride is a dud you'll still have Hydra and SR to fall back on. Not to mention all the other rides that are going to open in 2005. Stop dwelling on it and smile about this. We're getting a Freakin Record Breaker! Who would have expected that here and now?

Its made by the same company! There gonna look the same!

I wonder how Six Flags will create commercials for this ride. They might just have to rely on computer animation like they did when they debuted Medusa. Seeing that tiger in the invitation reminded me of the one that ripped up Roy of Sigfried and Roy. Six Flags is going for the Cedar Point jugular in the records department.
Sure looks like a computer-generated image to me! Although it sure does have a lot of detail...

Really? I think you would know somthing about that... ;)

There happy?? Sheesh

Wow. Let's just hope that this is the beginning of good things to happen to SFGAdv. While they draw the largest crowd of any SF park, the park needs a lot of changes. It's nice to finally get another record breaker. Hopefully, CP was the "guinea pig" with TTD and there will be few problems with this new one. I also seriously hope they took into consideration the capacity of this coaster when designing it. Using a single station for S:UF was a bad choice in my opinion. The wait time for that ride is WAY longer than it needs to be.

Looking at the picture, I see a few tell-tale signs that that is not Dragster:

1. As mentioned, the catwalks and christmas tree lights are not there. The lights could easily be removed, but doctoring the catwalks and elevator shaft would be a little more difficult. That being said, I don't know why GAdv would not include those on the project, so we'll have to wait and see about that.

2. With the above in mind, I still see the catwalk at the crest of the top-hat..so its either a doctored picture, or an incomplete model, or something completely different!

3. The train has a pointed end that is pointing up - the direction of travel. This train is also going throgh a full twist - going up.

We'll have to wait till next week to know for sure though.

"And we are now passing under Millennium Force, which, with the arrival of Top Thrill Dragster, is now...just blue."
I just don't like the fact that they are building on the parking lot. I hope they do a better job themeing it, than the lame one they did to Superman:UF.

Uh...why are we still speculating??? :)

Well since the coaster isn't built yet, and this is an artist's renderring, they probably didn't feel the need for such details. I would guess it would have to have an elevator.

S:UF has pretty decent theming compared to most of the other rides at GAdv. At least they bothered to rip up the parking lot under it before they put it down. It also has the character signs, which are somewhat interesting.

S:UF also has no need for 2 stations if it's run even remotely correctly. In my experience (~30 rides) there's very rarely significant stacking. They built the thing with 2 stations at SFoG and realized that they designed the restraints so well that people could actually load in a reasonable amount of time and drop to a single station. Seems like a win to me.

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

...or they were just photo shopped out those things to make it look original. Its really not that hard to do.

Looks like a clone of TTD to me, obviously, unless it has some sort of extra element. OMG a giant loop perhaps? Right. SF is really going all out with this one...

to quote a certain football player who now plays in philadelphia...."if it smells like a rat and looks like a rat, it's a rat in my book" ....

well... they are saying it gonna be a record breaker for height and speed and the artwork looks like TTD soooooooooooooooooo... TTD clone it is!

Watch the tram car please....
This thing needs to reach 500 feet for me to consider a visit from Florida. If its anything less, or doesn't at least include some new element, I'd just as soon ride Dragster and be at Cedar Point.
