The Point Going Orange?

There have been a few reports claiming Magnum and Iron Dragon are getting a new paint job for next year-- Orange (and apparently they have already started). Does anybody have any pics of this?

I guess I can understand changing the colors, since TTD now dominates the skyline with red. I don't mind orange, but I think both Magnum and Iron Dragon would be a little overkill. If anything, the tracks on Iron Dragon should be black instead of orange.

Is there any truth to this, or is it just more nonsense from the Lemon Chill guy?

I thought Magnum has always been orange?

I can say that I thought that they were painting Iron Dragon. It looked to be partway up the lift hill to me. I was just there Friday and Saturday.

How can they repaint Magnum when the park is running out of space?

I think they should paint the iron dragon with purple metallic automotive paint that shines pink when the sun hits it, just like the cars on the legends trains. Or blue that changes to green like a dragon's skin. That would be cool!

The park isn't running out of space, Moosh. Magnum is skinking which will create space for that sweet Out and Back woodie we have been begging for for years.

It looked to me last friday that Iron Dragon was going like a dark deep bright red, I heard someone ask a ride op and they said they think its goin red and white, also looked like the corkscrews on Corkscrew were repainted the same blue, I didn't notcie magnum's new paint,

Painting Iron Dragon with mystic or even a pearl would cost a ton, that stuff isn't cheap were taking sometimes a couple grand a quart for the cheap stuff.

Skink: according to Miriam Webster, a verb of Middle English origin, meaning "to pour out a drink". They're turning Magnum into a bar! Hallelujah!

Becca - You know the cost of that automotive paint? :) They could probably just about build a double, racing version of TTD for the price of painting just Iron Dragon. But yes, it'd be a gorgeous sight ;)

Magnum has always been orange and is going to be repainted as such. Iron Dragon has always been red, it appears Iron Dragon will now be Magnum orange and yellow.

Corkscrew is already totally repainted

I hope they sandblasted the old paint off before they added the new stuff because the weight of the new paint may cause it to sink faster.

I know most of you think it's just a rumor, but it's true. When Magnum was built, it was the tallest coaster in the park. Now there's two others that are taller. How else do you explain that?

You might as well just paint "Jr." on the signs, too.

*note* there are actually 3 coasters taller than magnum now :O (MF, TTD, and WT)

Magnum is red, look at the old pictures of it. it is a faded red, but it is red.

and if it is sinking, can it still be considered a 200+ hyper?
