Perhaps it's a paint that magically changes color overnight...

If orange fades to turn orange, CP should never had to repaint Magnum again!... Er, some people need to step away from the computer and watch a bad movie they think is actually good. Mmm, go mindnumbinglessness! ;)

We can put this arguement to rest right now, folks Magnum was at least once red. On CP's Magnum webpage(http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/magnum.cfm) it states in the paragraph by the 10 year logo "A traditional out-and-back "hyper-coaster," Magnum's 5,106 feet of RED steel tubular track runs..."

I dont care what anyone says Magnum is better then MF, which is better then TTD!

I hope they sandblasted the old paint off before they added the new stuff because the weight of the new paint may cause it to sink faster.

I know most of you think it's just a rumor, but it's true. When Magnum was built, it was the tallest coaster in the park. Now there's two others that are taller. How else do you explain that?

You might as well just paint "Jr." on the signs, too.

That is a rumor, Magnum is not sinking! I think the colors on the coaster are fine. They sybolize the coaster.

BTW: Magnum is 205 feet
Wicked Twisiter is 215 feet
Millenniunm Force is 310 feet

[smacking self in head with phone book] Gee, you're right. How silly of me. [/smacking self in head with phone book]

BTW: nice spelling there, Mr. Millenniunm Twisiter.

PS: That is what the alphabet would look like without Q and R.

For your perusal...

Viper's original candy apple red
GASM's crimson/dark red
Magnum's orange-red
Titan's reddish-orange
Raging Bull's orange

How many of you were there in '89 when Magnum opened? I can tell you from first hand experience that Magnum was red, with just a hint of orange in the color. But, it was never primarily orange, always red!

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Whoa Olsor. Titan is much more orange in those pictures than Raging Bull.

I don't know, maybe I'm just blind. Totally possible. ;-)

Millenium Force is blue. I don't know what you people are talking about. What's all this crap about orange? It's blue.

Oh wait, I was confusing which two coasters you were talking about. Hmm, well I'm not the only one here lately doing that.

Down with the enthusiast bureaucracy!

I wish I had the time to argue about color differences in coasters.

Wait a minute... I don't wish i had the time. Even if I did it would be totally pointless.

I (unfortunately) have the ability too see color definitions way beyond the average human scale. What does this mean? It means that I can look at something that has been painted with two different batches of the same paint and see the difference, where 99% of people see one solid color. It also means that things that have slightly different hues that are noticeable to most people look like completely different colors to me. This makes me very picky when I have to decide on things involving color. What looks like a perfect match for some people looks awful to me.

In any case, people see colors differently. What looks orange to some may be red to others, and to one of my friends who is almost completely color blind, Magnum looks like a strange hue of bluish.gray.

It is not worth debating. Be thankful you can see in color.

This color debate has taken a life of its own. I mean, there are still some infidels who think Medusa is green!!

I asked at this year's Q&A at CoasterMania (1st session), what the original color of Magnum was -- red or orange.

I was told Orange. TekGuy was there to hear it.

Magnum is yellow. Seriously.

Don't believe me? Then explain how they managed to give the red paint an orange tint... ;)

Because this thread isn't long enough already...

After the paint job, is Magnum going to look more like Viper, more like Titan/Goliath, or will it look just like its current color... whatever that may be... but with a fresh coat of paint?

MForce is purple not blue! Paint Magnum green!

I was wondering how long it'd be before someone started the MF Purple/Blue debate ... one which still rages between my Dad, Mom and I ;)

If you don't argue over pointless things, life is a bleak, depressing thing. Have some fun once in a while ...

Oh please!

MF is blue, AC is purple. Medusa is green, Nitro is yellow. ;-)

I still think they should repaint Magnum yellow though. That would be HOT!

Wow Rentzy what stuff are you smoking? Please share with the rest of us. No! I'm kidding really! Medusa is yellow green. Nitro and citrus orange. Whats AC?

------------------
http://coastertrackrecord.tripod.com/

AC is Apollo's Chariot.

I suppose you're right. Medusa does seem to have a slight yellow tint to it. Nitro is more of a "butter" orange/yellow.
