The park said the ride was not scheduled to open prior to the holiday weekend. Last time I checked, Thursday, July 3rd, is before the holiday weekend.

Thanks for the play-by-play though.

OMD. The webcam shows that it's like daylight at Cedar Point! I fear that a fiery meteor may be on its way to destroying the *entire* peninsula!!!

They were doing a lot of testing late last night (Jul 3rd), they even had a low power launch at around 10:30pm. Then, a technician removed a wire from one of the junction boxes, and they moved a train up to launch position and left it there at least until 11:00pm when I left.

I think they are still sorting out the modifications they made, like the brake for the push car at the launch point. From what I saw tonight, it could be running on the 4th if things go well with what they are doing now.

I am looking at the webcam now and there are ride ops in the station.

Yeah, Seeing the ride ops in the station right now gives me a great sign. There's trains on the track again. So hopefully we see it run today. : )

They seem to be taking water dummies out and replacing them with people.

How can you tell if theres a launch? I've been looking at the station and there was movement of the green train I saw but, nothing more. How do you tell?

It's opening day all over again. And I'm 300 miles away. Could we expect media coverage? Maybe? Pleeeease?

I'm kidding, of course. I feel happy for those lucky ones who made it to the point, and hope they are having a good time. To everyone else, I recommend riding a coaster, go watch some fireworks, or at least get outside. It's the 4th of July, so everyone shouldn't be huddled against their computer screens. Well, I'll talk to everyone later; I'm going to the Western open at Cog Hill CC, Lamont, Ill.

Okay, that photo is just plain scary. It looks like the Twilight Zone or something...

I'm glad they finally got it up and running. Hopefully it will be operational when I head there for a week in early August. :)

If the 2-week theory holds true TTD will open today. We were there for the last re-opening on June 18 and that was after exactly 2 weeks of down-time. It ran that Wednesday, Thursday and from what I've heard part of the day Friday and here we are again exactly 2 weeks later. It will be interesting to hear if it re-opens at the same time as well, between 6 and 7:00 this evening.
