DCA zinged on Simpsons!

Hey all, I normally wouldn't post something like this, but it was just too funny.

For those who missed the new Simpsons tonight, they were visting a maximum securtiy prinson much like Jodie Foster did on Silence of the Lambs. Marge said "I don't think this is the best place to bring the children" Lisa replied "Hey, it's better than Disney's California Adventure!"

I was eating at the time and choked....they almost had to take me to the emergency room! :)

I don't think it's funny(not because they're making fun of it, but because I don't see what's bad *Nots*) since DCA is one of my favorite parks, but I guess you can't please everyone! She must be pissed she wasn't recreated in Superstar Limo... LOL! ;)

I want nothing but the best for DCA, but it seems it's not just the Disney fans and enthusiasts who were dissappointed by it :( I guess the writers for Simspsons thought the same thing.

Oh well, at least it is some publicity. It doesn't mean anything, it's just the Simpsons. They have done everything on that show......

The new showdown:

Disney's California Adventure vs. The Campbell's Chunky Soup Prison!

"I've grown accustom to your face..."

You beat me to it Peabody, I was hoping nobody would start this topic until 8:30 so I could title it what I said above (2nd line)

Oh well, it was still the second most attended park in California opening season and ninth overall for the US.

Hopefully, things went even better this year and I think Tower of Terror will be a huge help in both satifaction and attendance overall when it opens. California Screamin', Grizzly River Run, and Soarin' Over California are phenomenal attractions, but I guess it's too little at this point and when they visited to give them a very good impression. Fox is in competition with Disney/ABC anyways, so of course they'll poke fun if they can and I'm all for a little humor. I know in cases it is free advertisement though from people wanting to know how bad it really is (and there *are* people like that out there... I'm one of them--in certain cases).

I bet tower will help them, but I was dissappointed to learn that it will not include many of the great show elements that the FL version has :(

Hey, the Simpsons are funny, AND that park is great! Y'all should check it out sometime.

I still think they should let you visit BOTH parks for the price of one though.

The Simpsons have been trashing Disney for years. Just look at the "Itchy & Scratchy Land" and "Sherry Bobbins" episodes... lots of great gags at Disney's expense.

The DCA joke was a riot!

The Simpsons have always poked fun of Disney parks, just as others have pointed out. Anyone remember Euro Itchy and Scratchy Land?

And the Simpons is not JUST a cartoon :)

Not just a cartoon, but a ... "Cult". I dont mind the show but to me its not worth the amount of years its been going.

As far as DCA is concerned, I feel that if Disney opened this park in another market without an amusement park, it would not receive the negative publicity it gets now. I dont understand why they would open a park right next door to one of their existing parks(and the original no less).

Disney needs to spread the wealth in the U.S.

I don't know about that Chitown. I think the idea was to make the Disneyland resort a multi-day destination for tourists. The problem with that is that the vast majority of guests at both parks are annual passholders from the local area. So essentially, they are trying to sell a park about the wonders of California to California residents. Yeah, makes sense to me too.

But as long as we have California Screamin', Soarin over California and are recieving the Tower of Terror, I can't complain.

I've been a huge fan since season one, and a few years ago, I probably would have claimed that it was time for the show to end. But its quite remarkable, this season so far has been excellent, and last season was good, too. Its really like its been revitalized.

the Simpsons is the best show on TV right now, followed closely by Futurama.

neither show is afraid to poke fun at other major networks, companies or celebrities.

i was rather upset to have missed the show last night (out w/friends for Xmas) but my roommate relayed it to me and i just screamed with laughter.

i LOVE it when people poke fun at Disney, another "cult" IMO, withthe Anti-Christ Eisner at the helm...oh wait, he resigned, didn't he? must have finally found a successor with evil powers equal to his...

ANYhoo, i bet Uncle Walt is spinning in his cryo-chamber at what Disney has become over the years...a laughing-stock to some, a "cult" to others and somewhere in between falls the rest of the GP.

Thanks for SAVING THE WHIZZER!! it couldn't happen to a better ride...
