DCA zinged on Simpsons!

i read that book years ago...quite entertaining and probably the source of my Anti-Disney stance...

gotta love the Simpsons for trying anyways...Homer rocks IMO

For current quality Fox programming, watch 24, Boston Public, Malcolm in the Middle (slowly slipping from its original greatness) and The Simpsons of course. Andy Richter's new show is decent so far, so hopefully they can find another show to hold onto. Family Guy was good, but I was never hooked in, especially with all the time slot changes.

Never got a chance to see Girls' Club, but I would guess it was too Ally too soon for viewers to care about. They could always bring it back midseason or next summer. 2 episodes is way too early to cancel a show.

I wish Ally was still on, but that had been losing creativity over time as well. More rich entertainment like Celebrity Boxing, Temptation Island, and Boot Camp is in store I guess. ;)

Den, strangely 8 Simple Rules has become one of the top rated shows on ABC. Looks like it's pulling a My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Haven't seen the show, so can't comment.

When you want real quality though, turn on HBO (almost anything besides Arli$$ LOL), the WB (Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Everwood), and sometimes NBC (Friends, Ed, The West Wing, Will & Grace, Law & Order). CBS and Fox can pull out some great programming here and there. While I love Disney, ABC needs a lot of help... a lot (ditto to their animated sequels minus Toy Story 2-- the Jungle Book 2 trailer made me gag)!

There's the TV world according to moi. Take it with a grain of salt. :)

Contrary to popular belief, some straight guys do actually prefer quality entertainment to ogling at women.

If I want to ogle, I'll buy a magazine and I won't have to listen to crappy David E. Kelley dialogue while I'm ogling.

On point one, it had better be some FINE "quality entertainment"...

On point two, where IS that TV remote, anyway...;) ESPN and Comedy Central (Daily Show) get most of the time I'm not watching FOX Sunday nights...Family Guy WAS *that good*, as are KotH, Futurama, and Malcolm...Simpsons is still good stuff, but *in the beginning*, it was really QUITE cutting-edge material...

bill, who also enjoyed Daria immensely, and finds *Cartoonz for Big Kidz* to be one of the benefits of life in our time....:)

Carson Palmer wins Heisman, although not as close as predicted...;)
Final Score from College Park: Gary Williams 64, Billy Donovan 69 :)

Now Danny just mentioned what I believe to be the best show on TV. I still love Boston Public mind you, but The Gilmore Girls is just about the most perfect show for an "Optimistic Cynic" such as myself. It so seems like a show that would not appeal, but just listening to the dialogues I find myself sucked in. BP is going to lose me if they let Guber sleep with Miss Sudor. NO WAY IN HADES! :)

I absolutely LOVED Family Guy, I found it so much funnier than the Sipsons, I actually signed an on-line petition to keep the show on, even though I knew it really wouldn't have done very well. King of the Hill is pretty good, and I liked Futurama at first, but got out of it.

I really miss the Adventures of Beans Baxter and Parker Lewis Can't Lose

"Simpsons wasn't slamming DCA as a park. Since the opening the press has been quick to jump on it for having a lack of activities for children. Tower of Terror isn't going to help that reputation at all.

And yes ALEEN6E6, I'm sure after watching the show last night everyone at Disney is scrambling right now to get new attractions built there post-haste. "What!? We had no idea!""

They are? How do you know?

I loved family guy it was great. If was brand new now and gave it the right promotional push, it would make a great addition to the fox sunday lineup right after futurarama. The 7:30 slot is almost always filled with a rerun or crap and family guy would fill the void nicely. Don't even get me started on simpsons quotes I could go for hours.

ROFLMAO!!!!! My friend and I used to always watch that show and make fun of the people. It's terrible. Haha. I don't get around to watching it much anymore. Ed and The Simpsons are fine for me :)

chris, Elimidate is *entertaining* only for those folks who stop to look at train wrecks...that's about it...

bill, one of "those folks"...occasionally...;)

Ok, I'll admit it... I like The Family Guy more.

Fox's biggest issue is bad counter programming. Girl's Club ran against Monday Night Football, Third Watch, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Third Watch and Raymond (ratings wise) are what killed Ally McBeal. Why put a similar show (demographic target wise) in the same place.

As for the non-Simpson cartoons and Greg the Bunny, no matter who's watching, any show with a share under 1 is doomed on a network. A share roughly tells you what percent of all TVs that are on are tuned to a particular show. Just to be clear, a Rating Point is how many homes relative to the number of homes with TVs. A 2 rating means about 2.2 million homes.

The Simpsons is a classic Fox show but it still can't touch the best show that Fox ever air,

Married...With Children

Whoahhh, Bundy!

Damn Cornfields

I second that bsr241.

"Married with Children" still makes me laugh today (re-run after re-run after re-run) :)

Me too! I don't think anything can make me laugh harder then some of the stuff on that show.

This Simpsons is fine too. They eventually make fun of everything. :)

TOGO!

Nobody has any right to bash the simpsons, it is the funniest show on tv, and all of the subtle jokes are hilarious. Who cares if they made fun of DCA. They make jokes about the crappy shows on FOX, and that is the station they are on. I dare you to make fun of the simpsons again. Give me one good reason why the joke about DCA wasn't funny.

OK, since I *did* fail to mention MWC in my original post, I hereby receive Peg's title of "dumber than the dog" (Buck)...that show was on the frontline of the whole *real family life* genre that has brought us to the point of Malcolm and Hank Hill....thankfully!

They rip on Fox more than anything! Heck, they put a disclaimer on the latest DVD for the commentary because the shows staff tore up Fox in the commentary for screwing them that year by moving them against The Cosby Show. That killed the Simpsons that year, plus hurt Cosby.

I can deal with a disclaimer, but what Warner Bros. did to the new South Park DVDs is just rediculous!
