reference to Timbers as a "classic out and back"I went to the water park for a while, if you didn't stay long that may be why ya didn't see me and I didn't ride Timbers as much cause that auto-spiel drove me insane!!!
Timbers is not a "classic out and back" it's a out and back on crack or steroids!!

Live spiels are one of the things I love about Cedar Point and I'm actually disappointed that they have autospiels on MF and WT. Hopefully Cedar Fair hasn't changed thair position on spiels in recent years because I think they are one of the things that sets their parks apart!
Edit: I just listened to the spiel and I think it is terrible for a station spiel. I think the beginning of it (minus the lapbar part, etc) would be acceptable to have played in the queue ala the spiel that comes on once in a while in the Mantis queue. "Welcome to Mantis. You are about to experience one of the most blah blah blah..."

The speakers for the spiel were moved outside the station at the request of John Jay, he threatened to quit if something wasn't done. He told me this himself Saturday, we talked quite a bit.
John Jay definitely rocks, awesome at the spiel and getting the crowd pumped. I told him the Green Train was evil he told me I was crazy. LOL (The green train was evil)
As for the spiel, if you have not heard it, consider yourself lucky. It plays the dang MIA theme song over and over and OMG it is the most annoying piece of trash ever.
Anyway the atmosphere was awesome Saturday. Rocking station, no stapling, and every train coming in was going wild. Only park outside of CP where I have ever seen this, except for the stapling park which I have found is not as prevalant at CP anymore either.

I was at Timbers again yesterday with ST Chick, and when we showed up, not only was there no auto spiel playing, but the station PA system was not working either. As we got closer and peered under the station, this is what we saw! Thats right, that tape lying there in the sand is what appears to be the autospiel... The PA system was fixed about a half hour later, but the Autospiel never did come back on! I'd be curious to know if it ever comes back, or if it was fatally damaged in the "crash". :)
