Automated Spiel on Timbers
As far as the crew members quiting because of this.... I have to wonder about the maturity level of someone who would quit their job over a recording.

As for the spiel, I'll get used to it...I'm not going to destroy the thing. It's just an unwelcomed change, but so are the three feet by three feet boxes the assistants have to stand in now. It's still my ride, and I still love it. Like I said, the main purpose in creating this topic was to inform people who would want to know...and that's that. I have my opinions on it, sure, but that isn't super relavent. I'm not purposely trying to target anyone by this, it just upsets me when I see a thread like this can fall into an opinon war.

I agreed with Kara that spiels suck. Of course, in my neck of the woods we got a hyper with trims too close to the return run. Autospiel bad, trims worse. You have no idea how much worse.
One of the things I loved about MA was the old-fashioned, non-CP rideop interaction. I've already posted about WW's rideop high-fiving folks last summer and telling them to "Holllaaa!" and so on. So believe me, I feel your pain.
On the other hand, folks can't take dissent personally. Disagree over one specific reason...and don't playa-hate because someone else is taking a trip you're not. As for Michigan folk being dumb...it's funny whenever an Ivy League school needs a dean, they start recruiting from amongst the Maize and Blue first. Or how much engineering, manufacturing, agriculture, etc. comes from the Great Lake state. It isn't even known for one said crop or product because Michganders seem to succeed at so many different things, where do you start?
In closing, I'm so jealous of Kara 'cuz her home park isn't up to CF standards, but is IMHO so much better than mine. Take my Power Tower....please.

That is, indeed, good news, Kara! Although I like the autospiel for MF (for some reason it seems to work there), I don't think I could ever get used to one for Raptor. The same goes for ST. Some ride experiences just seem "better" when you have great ride ops to get the GP hyped. And the crew that handled Timbersfest were so much fun.
I do think CF will do great things for MiA, but I don't want to see the park "homogenized" either. Adding the spiel to Timbers over the great ride ops would have taken away some of the charm.

John Jay was working Saturday and was in the most pissed off mood I have ever seen him in. Not one smile except for when he was tapping the microphone out of boredome. This guy is the best at his spiel and loves to do it as fast as he can giving EVERY detail about the ride. Drop angle, speed, height, length. I have even heard him asking reriders to tell him which train was running the best. John Jay gives high fives as we leave the station. It just wasn't cool yesterday.
Well...rode with JJ today....and that one girl Kara ... and let's just say that all has been resolved. Changes are in the making so let's all just hang tight and enjoy the ride.
On a side note...I will catch up, but I will never beat the chick. Why would I want to? I just enjoy the ride.
Have fun in Cali Kara...I'll take care of your baby for ya.

Thank the maker that they changed back.....and that this unnecessary argument has resolved. Or so it seems. I can't ride Timbers every week, but the trip or two each year is remembered for the little things like ride spiels, and paying for free water! Seriously, that ride is enhanced by John and the rest of the crew that care enough to put their vocal chords on the line. I have never heard ops talk that fast!
