Automated Spiel on Timbers

Man, it's just a auto spiel. Who cares?

I don't listen to 'em anyway!

Auto spiel, human spiel, no spiel, I don't care.

I'm a COASTER enthusiast, not a spiel enthusiast!
Just don't change the ride.

Some of you need to find more important things to complain about! Sheesh.......

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

I'm not even going to touch on how the ride experience is ruined.

The coolest thing, though, was that today it was playing all day...then our rides sup. came up to relieve the op for his break. The first thing he did was turn off the spiel...and everyone started clapping :). Tim says that corporate (CF) doesn't like the jingle in it, because it is then more of a commercial than a safety spiel...so we may see some changes. However, this gives you an idea of the actual spiel, big thanks to James (ACEerCG) for hosting this for me.

"Michigan's Adventure...for a WHOOOOOLE summer of fun"....ugh....

The song was haunting me the whole drive home and continues to be stuck in my head as I type this. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if MiA just played it on Timbers every now and then, but continuously? And not only at Timbers, but also Wildcat, the entrance gates, and even Zach's Zoomer???? Give it a break! Imagine "It's a Small World" invading all of Disney World and being played on all the rides, and you have an idea of how annoying the new MiA theme song is!

It's 106 miles to Indiana Beach. We've got a full tank of gas and a half-full cooler of cokes. It's light, and we're wearing Disaster Transport 3-D glasses....hit it!

Hate it. I could handle it if it was actually a halfway decent autospiel. The music sucks. I like parts of the spiel but for the most part it sounds like a commercial. I have hated that theme song since the day it was released. It is cheesy. Now I get to hear it over and over.

(I'm just remembering back when Cedar Point's Matterhorn played that "Cedar Point Will Move You" jingle on every cycle, and Calypso played the song, "Kokomo". Every cycle. All day. All summer. For years.)

I have to agree that the spiel has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with torture. It's not that we're nitpicking about them having a spiel..spiels aren't always bad things, but when you have what sounds like a glee club singing a song that's just revoltingly cute and peppy and has nothing to do with safety issues on the ride, it's hard not to complain about it. I agree that it sounded like a commercial for the park and the ride itself. I wanted to look up at the speaker and yell "I'm here! What more do you want from me??"

I love Raptors live spiels, especially when I ride " El Raptoro", or Mantises " 'All Clear' 'What?' " sketch I hear when im at CP, but automated spiels are stupid, hearing the live spiels give me something to listen to when in line, its irritating hearing the same thing over and over and......

Have they started telling you all the stats of the coasters yet like at CP? I hate that.

Kara umm no offense but it does suck but still its not like it matter that much. The ride is the ride. Not the station. I know it would be better if it was off but you don'thave to make a big deal out of it.

I'd make a big deal out of it if that crappy recording was forcefed into my head every time I tried to ride my favorite ride.

I know you aren't trying to flame her (per say), but she does have as much right to make a huge deal out of this as you do to tell her to calm down.

i hate it i wish the ride operators had a schtick or some rider interaction here at my homepark sfgam all we get is thanks for challenging "insert ride name here" push down then pull up on your restraint blah blah blah or for those of you waiting to challenge (ride name here) step behind the yellow safety line and it gets really fooking annoying

The worst one I ever heard was Lightning Racers, its a voice from a local Radio guys, and it just keeps going. I mermoried it last year, and it still haunts me today!

Idiot ummmm no offense but you are annoying but still not like we really give a damn about your opinions if they're gonna be that negative. I know it would be better if you would be banned but you don't need to make a big deal about announcing every 2 minutes that you're going to ride your 100th coaster in a few weeks. This is something that will actually affect people, nobody gives a damn how many coasters you've ridden or which one is #100.

Well, in that case you won't want to read anything I've posted since about May (where I did the same), any of the six TRs I've written about my trip (which many people who 'don't care' have said are a good read) or the other three on the way, the '100 coasters?' thread still floating around on the forum or--of course--my signature.

Simple fact is, people DO care. Even non-enthusiasts in many cases. In fact, when Jeff Spartan's 100th coaster was CP's WT (during media day), he got written up in the newspaper right alongside the new coaster.

He's got as much right to crow about his trip as Kara does about her ST laps. More power to all of 'em.

Now back to the topic at hand.....

Look guys, I thought some of you would want to know that we got this spiel, and I thought some of you would be interested in hearing it. I especially thought that you would like to know because of all the 'CF and MIA' topics going around. Don't turn this into a 'bash Kara cause she whines all the time' thing. You really don't know the situation; you don't know that certain members of my crew are quiting because of this. Yes, this is a blow to myself and local enthusiasts, so if you don't know the situation, please don't try and assess it.
