Since I don't know the area at all, this is probably stupid, but could that track have been headed to CP?

Who says that just because a coaster is launched like Xcelerator it has to have a small compact layout? I would love to see an Intamin Rocketcoaster that has a layout that resembles a more traditional Hyper. (out & back, maybe a helix or 2)

Houston Thrills-

The truck carrying the track could very much have been headed for Cedar Point. The truck that was carrying the supports, however, was past CP by a good hour when I spotted it.

Has there been any news/rumors anywhere on the net about CP getting a coaster for next season?

From what ive seen, I thought next season would be a year where they didnt get a new coaster, and did some in park improvements with a new flat or so. (im not saying thats true, just something ive seen on other coaster boards.)

Since we know SFWoA has been approved for the ride, and ive read that they'd like construction to start well before the off season, id say its def. heading that way. Cant wait to see the pics

This is incredible news, I can't wait to see the coaster hovering over the Sfwoa Skyline. Quick question though, Why Blue and Red. I know they don't have a blue coaster yet but the Gp Will definately think it's like a smaller Millie now. I thought for sure they'd make it orange even though Roadrunner is that color. Blue with Red supports to me is just ugly. I just tried to make the new hyper with a layout similar to the one they showed in the paper a while ago and the Blue and Red clashed horribly. Oh well, whatever the colors are, I'm sure I'll love this because I didn't want anything other than an Intamin.

nope, lol not sarcasm. i tend not to read all the topics when they talk about Cedar Point all the time. I love the park, but when i see numerous post about it day in and day out i tend to not view them that much.

Just saw the news on screamscape though so ignore my previous post lol. Sounds cool, and i hope its true

I edited my original post to mention that there won't be any photos to post. It was too dark out and the only thing that showed up were the tailights of the truck. Luckily, though, I didn't have to pay for the developing because of this :o) Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.

What you really should be sorry about is trying to take pictures while driving!! And what is lucky is that you didn't lose control of your car, have an accident and possible kill yourself, and others, simply because you were all hyped up about taking pictures of rollercoaster track. Too bad I didn't see you driving and taking those pictures, because I would have pulled off and called the state patrol to report you.

When will you guys get some brains? It's one thing to be a fan of coasters, but quite another to be such a fanatic about it that you put your own lives, and possibly the lives of others, at risk over somethign like this.

Forget DUI, cell-phone used while driving, and putting on makeup---apparently some people need to fuel their ROLLER COASTER obsession by putting their own lives, and lives of others, in danger.

I suppose I'll make a lot of enemies here by saying this stuff, but hey - if you want to endanger your own life, that's up to you. Just don't let your obsession affect mine.

Sorry buddy...even I'm not that talented.

I purchased the camera and I did the driving...but I certainly wasn't the one taking the photos. Maybe you got the wrong impression by the way the story was worded, but there were others along for the ride as well.

Safety is no accident! :oP

Ok, so was it headed east? If so, it could be headed to any park east of there, Lake Compounce, SFDL, SFNE, or maybe even, gasp, The Great Escape! I could easily see the great escape getting one, I doubt it, but it could be possible, as they did get cleaance to build anything that appears as tall as or shorter than their new sky coaster, which is built in pretty much the highest part of the park, and is 165' tall, so I dunno.

Why ride rough coasters when you can ride smooth ones?
