Nacho cheese is disgusting and shouldn't be topped on anything. Elmer's Glue is better (and probably better for you). Shreded cheese, on the other hand, a la Outback Steakhouse cheese fries, is another story. That's good stuff.

The fries at Andre's fries in the farmers market at SFGRAm with salt and malt vinegar...MMMM..MMMM..Good!! Also, not park fries but at the Schoops Hamburger place down the road has Irish Nachos which I could eat the rest of my life and be happy:)

I agree with Jeff, why do fast-food places think we like big greasy ladle-fulls of runny cheese sauce on hamburgers?  Give me a slice of cheddar or (mmm) pepper jack instead.

LOL -- Amen, brother! You can never have too much vinegar. Good thing my wife enjoys it as much as I do or I think we'd have to take separate cars home! ;)

While vinegar is my favorite, I also enjoy cheese on my fries, especially at Kennywood. Though next time I'm there I might have to try GregLeg's combination. I've heard him rave about it before and it's got me curious.

2Hostyl, you're not the only one that enjoys BBQ sauce on fries, though I don't think I've ever had it at a park. I usually go straight for the vinegar or the cheese.

Ok, I have to stop, because I am getting really hungry! How many days 'til Kennywood opens? :)

I like ranch and ketchup mixed with a little hot sauce personally.

We have this place in Las Vegas called Farm Basket and they have turkey gravy and cheese covered fries called farm fries.

I've never even heard of putting vinegar on fries, but it sure sounds gross.

Why is it that no one puts vinegar on fries except at amusement parks?  How come fast food places don't have vinegar?  At least around here they don't!

eeeeeeew, the whole vinegar thing sounds just gross.  eck, i guess it cant be that abnormal tho since there are salt and vinegar potato chips(gross!), which are basically the same thing...

Funny thing is, I LOVE 'Salt and Sour' (aka vinegar) chips but never thought about having them on fries.

And yeah, I'm plenty pissed about not being able to DROWN fries in BBQ sauce @ parks. When I saw @ KennyWood they had BBQ sauce as a topping I got excited, then they just handed me a Kraft packet (not that I dont like Kraft..). I dont understand why they DONT have 'industrial sized' BBQ dispensers. Hell you can find those @ Mickey D's. Why not at a park?

Jeremy - Do you put BBQ Sauce on your chips then? :)

Don't they have a BBQ Sauce dispenser at the BBQ place at Hershey? I may be mistaken, but I swear my cousin had a bowl of sauce for his ribs.

Really?

Of course you realize the difference between putting ketchup on your fries and a sugary tomato sauce is the vinegar in the ketchup, right?

You should try it sometime just for the heck of it.

PS to hostyl1--Salt and sour chips?  Are you serious?  And I actually thought the BBQ sauce post was lettin' it all hang out...what's next?  A poetic ode to Chick-o-Sticks?

Salt and vinegar chips are yummy, but sadly I haven't seen my favorite brand here in Cleveland (Eagle Sea Salt & Vinegar) in years. That's the stuff!

the IMPORTANT aspect of fries, you realize, is that they're BROWN on the sides.  A pale pasty potatoe product is not an appropriately ap-peel-ing potatoe at all....this message brought to you by the potatoe farmer exchange program between IN and ID (just teasing guys...)

Chris: Honestly, I have put BBQ sauce on chips, though I'm more likely to just get BBQ flavored chips in the first place. Also, I prefer to have hot sauce on the chips. And, for the record, I've not eaten @ the BBQ place @ Hershey so I dont know.

CPlaya: What's wrong with S&S chips? (Jeff, I prefer "Vitner's" brand ;)). And I'd rather have my muse guide me to verses on Sugar Daddies, Pork Rinds and Na'laters (Now & Laters)

The best chips are Snyder's Dill Pickle chips.  yum.  Can't find 'em anywhere though.

I know you can find dill pickle chips in and around Atlanta, but I'm not sure about that specific brand.  They're very good, though.

jeremy - You are letting it all hang out...Just messin' with you. ;)

Den - If you like the Snyder's Dill chips, I *highly* recommend finding some Zaps Dill chips.   They rule.  Zaps are from Louissiana, but I can get them at specialty food stores in Chicago.  They are well worth seeking out.

Zaps also make some mean hot and spicy chips that our hostile friend may like.
