Do You Bother To Ride Flat Rides?

Besides the ever popular roller coaster, flat rides are the other staple at amusement parks. However, I find myself to overlook them completely. I find time to ride certain coasters more than once instead of hitting any flats. Does anyne still get a thrill from the flat rides?

I absolutely do still enjoy flat rides. I particularly enjoyed them at SFGA the other day, where they have a plethora of them, and many rare ones at that.

I really don't like flat rides. I just hit all of the coasters.

I love flat rides. My favorites are the inverted ships and the enterprise. The scramblers and the "Falling Star"/Swinging Ships are pretty fun too. I dont know if you count Freefalls as a flat ride but I like those too. They are all pretty fun actually...

After riding Chaos at CP, nope... The only flat ride I like is a good ol' fashioned Scrambler...

Skywheels, Flying Scooters, Roll O Planes.......even Haunted Houses!!! My scale models wouldn't be the same without the inspiration I get from riding the whirl and hurls. I really get a kick out of how simple they are, yet the designs and technical aspects of them blow me away.

I don't really ride flat rides. The only one that I liked was Western Round Up, but no... SFEG has to take out the ride.

I normally hit the coasters then the flat rides. I love anything that you go upside down on. Am i the only one that noticed most Six Flags dont bother to put in over 5 flat rides in a park? They just put in coasters each year. Im not complaining about the coasters though :)

It depends where I am and who I am with. If I go to CP, I usually stick with coasters, and the other major thrill rides. If I am at Indiana Beach then I usually try to hit all the rides with the exception of Scambler and Tilt a Whirl, although I have ridden them both this summer. If my two daughters are with me (ages 7 & 4) then we go flat riding alot. My oldest is now about 46" tall and has ridden The Hoosier Hurricane, Cornball Express, and Galaxie at IB. Just a couple more inches to grow before she can experience all the greatest coasters. She at this point appears fearless. I hope this attitude doesn't change as she approaches the station of the Millineum Force in the near future.

For the most part, I am NOT a flat ride fan; actually, never was. I liked scramblers, but anything like a tilt-a-whirl was to be avoided. But after my trek to GAdv, I have rethought that position and will ride more and more flats when possible.

I love flat rides, but not as much as coasters. SFGAdv has one of the best flat ride collections of any park, you just have to go back to get on them all since they all don't work. The best one: Evolution.

I still enjoy the flat rides. they are a good alternative to just riding coasters all day,however most of the flats at SFA have been down recently (at least the one's I like)I still have yet to get on sky escaper this season.the only flat's that I avoid are the scrambler,rodeo,tilt-a-wirl and round-up.my fave's are the enterprise,roto-shake and wave swinger.after the chaos accident I'm never riding that thing again.

Hell yes! I love the flat rides, now if I could just go to a park that had a good collection (Carowinds, Kings Dominion, SFoG, IoA, don't cut it in the flat ride dept.) SFA rocks at flat rides, all though they don't have a lot of the newer ones, they do have a lot. SFNE looks to be awesome in the flat ride category, I wish I could get up there...

If flat rides weren't profitable then parks wouldn't be spending millions of dollars on them. Like the $36 million for Rhino Rally, $200 million for Spider-Man, or the $50 million or so that SFNE has used to improve it's ride collection. Besides parks have to build rides to fit everyones needs cos not everyone likes to ride coasters all day. Also flat rides don't take up much space and are cheaper to build then coasters.

Definitely, I love flatrides! Heck, last weekend I was at Conneaut Lake and got on the Round-Up. The operator asked how long we'd like to go, and I jokingly said "how about 10 minutes?" Sure enough, she left us on for a good 10 minutes (she said it was 14, but my watch didn't quite agree). I've never been sick on a ride, but wow did that one make me understand...

I dont care for those. I wait for the big rides, Besides if u ride all the coasters @ COP the day would be over cuz the lines

I'm not saying I don't like flat rides. They are a nice change of pace. But, I don't make a priority of riding all of the flats when I visit a new park. I get the coasters out of the way, (which sometimes takes all day) then do the unique flats. Of course, it's a rare occasion to find wide varieties of different flat rides, because many are found at most parks.

flat rides stink. i never hit any except if i am at a park with like 1 coaster and i have nothing else to do. i consider free falls flat rides. this would be a major exception to my disliking of flat rides. free falls, space shots...whatever are soooo good!
