Zforce at SFoG

Why is Zforce not listed under coasters at SFoG? I know it is defunct but shouldn't it still be listed.

ZForce is not defunct. It's operating as Flashback at SFMM.

I do not believe that Jeff lists a coaster as defunct if it is still operating at a different park.

Yes, I know it was moved. So should I just use that as my credit for Zforce? LOL, I wanted to count that as two coasters. Is a coaster not considered defunct at a park if it was moved?
Thanks Peabody, I posted before your post about the defunct status.

I hate to fan a war, but why would you count it as two coasters? Its physically the *same* coaster, just moved to a different location. Its no different than if they'd simply moved it to a different section of SFOG.

Analogy: If you moved your house to a new city you wouldn't be living in a new house, you'd be living in the same house in a new location.

I have the defunct Galaxi @ Myrtle Beach Pavilion in my track record, and even though I've been to the Pavilion, I never rode Galaxi. I rode it when it was at Kings Dominion. It'd be nice if all of a park's coasters were listed, past and present, like RCDB does.

It's not a huge deal, but I thought I'd mention it since this thread was started.

Take a ride...

I can understand that. I will just put Flashback down then as my ZForce credit. Oh well there goes using Viper from SFoG again.
Rider, if you want to list it in your track record, then just add Flashback at SFMM. I have done that to one or 2 moved coasters in my track record? (Ever wonder why only Nightmare from Great Escape is listed, and none of their others? I rode it at SFKK :) )

There needs to be a STANDARDIZED way of keeping track of coasters. There's this noteable problem of moved coaster. Also, there's the issue of those calling Racer and other racing coasters 2 distinct coasters in their track record. One more thing, carnival coasters. If they're at the same place every year, should they be able to be accounted for?

I'm not interested in anyone's way being right or wrong way, I'm just interested in there being ONE correct and accepted way of doing things.

Homey, there will never, never be a standardized way with people's differing opinions. The best thing is to determine your own way of counting and stick with it. The bottom line is our track records mean squat to anyone but ourselves.

Im with Vater on having all coasters that have been at a park listed just for reference. Some may not know that the coaster came from another park. I think it would even be good to see moved from SFoG and what year it was moved under the statistics for Flashback.

Exactly, Peabody. However I really do feel there is a difference between debating how one counts multi-tracked coasters versus how to count a coaster that has retained it's layout but simply moved locations.

That being said, if someone rode ZForce in all three locations and wanted to count it three times, more power to 'em. Its not the method I'd use, but then I don't feel the need to pad my count.

Clones, ride one you've ridden them all, one credit. Mirrored clones, since racers are considered one by some then a mirror clone is just another clone and is included in the one credit for clones of that type. Relocated rides, see clones. Dueling coasters are to be counted as one since they share the same ground and support structure. Similar layout and construction such as wooden twister, all count as one. There are a lot of people out there fooling themselves if they think they have or are going to have ridden over 200 coasters. There aren't that many in the world. ;)

Without padding the world is a less attractive place.

When the rumor of Shock and Wave was floating around, I wondered how that was going to fit into people's track records.

boblo brings up an interesting point. If you're going to count each B:TR installation that you ride as an individual credit, then why would you *not* count Z-Force and Flashback as individual credits?
boblogone's avatar
Must ride Shock, Wave and Shockwave for one credit, no partial credit allowed.

chris, don't ask me 'moosh makes the rules, the MOJ enforces them, I'm just a JV and all I do is create disturbances.

Lost me there boblogone. B:TR coasters only one?? Forget it. Peabody is right. Everyone do their own thing. I've ridden a million coasters. LOL
