Your park's trim brakes

Just curious as to how many trims your park has, and what coasters are they on? Before we begin, I would like to state that 1.) this is not a thread to moan about trims, 2.) they don't bother me, I actually try to enjoy the ride, and 3.) counting midcourse block brakes as a trim or not is up to you, I have no idea a good criteria for that.

Anyway, SFOG:

Dahlonega MT: 2.

GASM: 0 (used to have 1).

Mindbender: 2

GA Cyclone: 2

SUF: 2

Which brings the total to.... 8 in the park.

EDIT: correct count

CP, every coaster but Blue Streak, Millie, WT, and the Kiddies.

Wildcat has 3, Maggie has 1, CCMR has 1, Gemini has 2, Mantis has 2, Raptor has 1, Mean Streak has 2, DT has 3?

Does the final brakerun count for a trim since none of the coasters at Knoebels have trims? :)

Hey Churro - you forgot to mention that the trims on Deja are not used either. They're used to catch and stop a train if it valleys.

AstroWorld:

BTE: 1

I guess you could count the transfer track on Ultra Twister, or the brakes on Greezy, which are never used as trims, but they're there. IMO, those 2 don't count, since UT's are necessary for obvious reasons, and Greezy's are NEVER used as trims.

What, did reading the *French Canadian invasion* do something to your Anglais....it seems to be reading a little funny, as if you're suddenly taking English as a second language.

As for trims, Ga Cyclone has 2? Wow, not that you'd notice them, too busy holding on. The work done on that ride last off-season...c'est magnifique...;). That I promise will *probably* be the last, lamest, attempt...ever...probably ;)

I'll check oot everything that's operating at BGT this weekend and get back to ya....sorry *yankees*. But I honestly never really pay much attention to them unless they really GRAB a train, which I guess is why I'm surprised when I am forced to notice them....

BGT has just three, I believe (midcourse on Kumba, midcourse on Montu, minor trim before Montu's batwing). I'm pretty sure that's it.

As for my home parks, Big Chief runs their rides trimless (very nice!) and SFGAm's number of trims varies day to day. The most would be nine (three each on Bull and both sides of AE). The least (if all rides are running) would be six (two on Bull, one on Eagle), though that's a *very* rare thing!

-Nate (who notes that Magnum actually has *nine* trims!)

The only one at SFNE that bothers me is the last one on Cyclone, but from what I understand it's for safety reasons. Having ridden the ride trimless, I can see why, so I'd rather have the trim than no Cyclone at all.

I'm sure there are others in the park, but they've never bothered me enough to notice. To be as exact as i can, i'm pretty sure B:TDK has one that's very rarely used and i know there's ones that are standard on the boomerang clone (Flashback). And I also know S:ROS has none, and that's IMHO what makes it such a top-rated ride: speed from start to finish!

btw: the only trims that really bothered me were the ones on Bull, and the ones on the first hill of Mean Streak (having ridden it before, they completely ruined the ride for me).

Hold up, I thought for sure S:ROS had one.

All three S:ROS coasters definitely have trims (one each, I believe).

America's (and Darien's) can be seen here: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery699.htm?Picture=1
(train is just about to the trim)

SFNE's can be seen here if you look closely: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery628.htm?Picture=6
(look behind the train where that curve passes over the beginning of the bunny hops).

Of note, since they're magnetic brakes they're always on.

coasterdude318, there are a lot more trims at SFGAm. Demon's mid course acts as one, all three of whizzer's blocks slow you down, and (according to General Public), Superman will have two. That's fifteen. Are you sure AE has three per side, though? I can only think of two: At the top of the helix, and before the small helicces at the end.
The only one I know of at Great Adventure is the one on Nitro. Runaway Trian may have...but I'm not sure. Not too shabby.

Jus' gimme de light!

(SF)Great American: I never ride Demon, which is probably why I didn't mention it. I don't recall being slowed at the midcourse last time I rode, but it's possible it happens on certain days. The same goes for Whizzer (I don't remember ever being slowed by trims) but I'd believe that it does happen.

Yes I'm positive that Eagle has three trims on each side: before the barrel, after the barrel (just before the drop into the return run), and before the final helix. Usually all three are on at least somewhat, but I did get a ride last year where only the first barely touched.

Nitro actually has two (before the turnaround and the midcourse) though the first barely touched when I was there in Oct.

I only know of 2 at HERSHEYPARK. 2nd turn of Comet, and on the looper just before entering the helix. If you are lucky they will be on light... if you are unlucky, they will bring the train to nearly a complete stop.

I do think there are some on the Wild Mouse as well, but never encountered those on.

Sam: 'Sup homie?

Perhaps I COULD talk about the TRIMS at my home park, but it's so much MORE fun to read a PINK FLOYD FANATIC CAPS-LADEN RANT so I'll defer.
