You looked foward to, but was let down when.......

P> went all the way from NY to SC to ride Hurricane category 5 and heard it might not be open. Well, at least there was(or supposed to be) The Corkscrew. So got there  saw a huge crane and i thought the hurricane c5 was so big it blocked my view of the corkscrew until i drove around the block and saw there was no corkscrew. went in the park and asked a pathe sweeper what happened. He said they sold it to south america to get money and land for The Hurricane Category Five. so, next year came back. had about 30 great rides on the Hurricane and was very satisfied.   /P>

I was let down big time by Deja Vu. I felt the roller coaster lacked g-forces and was too unoriginal (it was unoriginal). I was also let down by Windjammmer. I never knew a coaster could be that bad!!! I knew it was going to be bad, but not that bad!!!!!!! Another coaster was Alpengiest. This coaster was forceless and uninspiring, except for the awesome theming.

Thunderbolt at Kennywood. When I first rode it, it was the #1 rated wooden coaster; so, I was obviously very hyped to ride it. What a huge disappointment. It was so painful and uneventful I couldn't understand what all the hype was about and why it would even be in the top 100. A close second for disappointment is Magnum at CP. Very over hyped.

First time I've heard that one... you sure you rode the same Alpengiest? Not trying to bash/flame you, but, I guess we all have our own opinions :-/

I have to agree with him. Alpie did nothing for me. I even felt headbanging...not good coming from B&M...
I'd have to agree with chris...I thought The Raven was rather tame. Don't get me wrong, it was a great ride and it got better at night, but I heard so many people hype it here. So when I rode it, I expected more than I got.

What surprises me is that people weren't hyping The Legend as much as they hyped The Raven. In my opinion, The Legend kicks The Raven to the curb...it's more intense, has more laterals, and airtime. It is one of the few coasters I've ever ridden where the G's and intensity is so strong that it gives you a headache after too many re-rides...now that's a good ride!

Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

I really don't get how people said Millenium Force....That is and will be the best ride EVER on this PLANET. Anyway....I was kind of let down by Mantis....I thought it could be better......

At HalloWeekends, Mantis, Mean Streak, and Magnum all were running without trims.

I can usually get airtime in the first loop, and diving loop of Mantis, but I was stuck the floor...it was an insane ride.

Mean Streak gave some great laterals and some airtime at night.

Magnum was just all out insane! The third hill had some great ejector air, the turnaround was very disorientating, and all the every single return hill threw me out of my seat with a vengeance.

It may have been a bit windy and cold, but the rides were awesome! It just goes to prove that when released from all restraint, these rides can definitely be considered the best in the world.

I wanted to ride Test Track at Epcot ever since we read the announcement in a Disney magazine five years ago. I finally got to ride it this summer and I found myself only liking the end part where you are accelerated to 65 MPH.

SFNE Cyclone 2000 - After hearing how it might've been derived from       the mind of one Harry Traver, I was very much looking forward to it. Unfortunately, all I got was a poorly tracking violent ride with PTC's that hunted and shuffled *all over* the place. This year, with the raised first  drop,  it is a *much* better ride!

PKI Beast- Brakes! Brakes! Brakes! Brakes! Brakes! Ugh! Between the brakes, slooooow lift hills, rampy drops, drawn out helices, and *zilch* in          the airtime department, the Beast was a *horrid* dissapointment. WHAT            was all that hype about?? Night rides were equally poor with all those  lights....

MagnumXL 200, Raptor, and Millennium Force- All *huge* dissapointments. Magnum XL was waay too rough, rampy and braked for my tastes. Raptor offered nothing special or nothing even remotely intense in the way of forces. Millennium Force, with all those overbanks, too fast lifthill, and *stupid, stupid* assigned seating policy, dissapointed my already low expectations.

More or less, pretty much everything else delivered what I expected - be it a crappy ride, great ride, or an overrated ride, I haven't really been "let down" by much else...

But, we already know how dumb and pointless your opinions are, RobCoasting. The "running of the bulls" comes to mind. It's just amazing how you aren't satisfied with 4 of the best coasters ever created, isn't it? Number 1, 3, 8, and 12, and you hated them...

Hmm, I wouldn't expect any defensiveness regarding Cedar Point from someone with the screen name "CPgenius"...;)  I have to agree with Rob about Magnum, definitely way too rough, and Raptor, which was blah in the g-force department.  MF on the other hand I loved, same goes for the Beast, which was the shock of a lifetime, because I expected to absolutely hate it.

"Hold on tight, with all your might, and enjoy your flight on the Raven!"
I've been to CP TWICE in my lifetime, three years apart.  When I went on the Millennium Force, I blown away.  It was a lot of fun.  I ahve never really been let down by a coaster other than the Iron Dragon BUT we all know that is relavent.

Robcoasting-  I know everyone has their own opinions but you don't have to be so harsh about it.  Say I was going to Cedar Point for the first time and I was just part of the GP.  If I read what you said about those rides, I could probably think that all the track is, is a little circle.  From what I have heard, their are worst rides.

Raven_Rider, I think that if you would ride Raptor in the afternoon or night this season, you would find out that Raptor was no where near "blah" in the G department.

I had the very best ride of my life on there last week. The back was just awesome! The g's pulling through the loop and heart-line roll, were just incredible. The cobra roll was just a blur, and the other two inversions went by very fast. But possibly the best part of all, was the ending helix. I could literally feel the blood being pulled to pulled to my toes.

We were going to leave the park after the ride on Raptor, but we just had to ride it again. That night there was no other inverted coaster in the world better. Plain and simple.

And if you have a chance to get there before the season is over, I urge you to see what I mean.

Okay, I rode Raptor Morning, afternoon and night this year and outside of the helix, it was 'ehh' in the G department. Why cant you Po!nters understand that not *everybody* has the same facination with *your* rides? Hell, I dont understand why people dont like Raging Bull over other hypers, but I let them have their opinions and move on.

Some Po!nters need to adopt a similar attitude of tolerance.

Disaster Transport!  CP's advertising led you to believe it was some great new ride.  I remember walking up to it and saying "Holy ****!  it's Avalanche Run in a box!"  I felt so decieved....

The two that failed to live up to expectations due to hype for me were Boulder Dash and Steel Force.
jimster, I wish you'd stop dissing AR like that...LOL.  And boblogone, I too was left "wanting" after riding Steel Force.  It's a good thing Dorney had ThunderHawk, Laser, and the formidable Talon!!!  Also, RT at SFGAdv has REALLY gone downhill...as have Beast and Mean Streak...please please please return these woodies to their former glory...

We rode the American Eagle at SFGRAM on the 6&7 and boy i was let down on how much rougher  this coaster has gotten. We rode the red side and it was rough as heck and right before you hit the helix, not only was the trim brake on but if you sat in the middle of the train you could see and FEEL the cars in the front of the train go up off the top of the track and bang back down on the track. they have really let this once fine ride go to the dogs.
