X OFFCIALLY Opening...Not a Lie. Dec 24'th!

Roar....why isn't it fair? Many of us bought  season passes on the pretense that X would be opening in early summer. MM sort of jumped the gun on advertising so this is thier way of making it up to us.

Think about it once it's open it will be open for years and years. And we won't even remember that it was delayed in a few years.

Also you guys are negative...really. Everyone thought Deja Vu was going to suck and it opened and everyone likes it. Just because a company has messed up in the past doesn't mean jack. It's the future and that's all that matters and mistakes can be fixed.

I agree with you Alex. It seems that so many people here trash companies if a coaster doesn't open on time. But then when it does open...their story changes completely. What's with that?

Did anyone really buy a season pass to MM only because of X?...would you NOT have bought one if you knew X wasn't going to open on time...I just find it hard to believe that there's people out there saying "I wouldn't have purchased SFMM passes if I'd known X wasn't going to open on time".  I mean, how many prototypes function flawlessly their first year of operation...

X will be beyond belief, Arrow will be fine, and  (please no turf wars here, folks) MM will tie CP for the most coasters...unless....where IS my beloved Viper going....

Hey RG(woodie) here's a better question, how many people thought Riddler's Revenge *WASN'T* some type of prototype. Better yet, who cared? Now someone who follows things knows that coasters like "X" are subject to delys, but most people just expect the things to work.

I mean, if you buy a Toyota and it breaks down in the first week (yeah, like that would happen :)) you'd be pretty PO'ed cause you'd expect that all the bugs would be worked out. Better example, look at how pissed everyone was when Windows 98 first came out and all the bugs it had. A similar theory applies here.

Oh and of course CP will tie *SFMM* when WT opens :)

Geese O with all these conflicting stories about what season passes will be selected, I hope and HUGE riot doesn't ensue at SFMM!

Rollergator,
I live in Phoenix and made 4 trips to Cali in 2000 to make use of my SFMM pass. I wasnt planning on returning in 2001 until I got my renewal form that spoke of THREE new rides for 2001. THREE RIDES!!!! And X, holy crap!!! I got my pass, but I will have to pay for another pass or a single day admission in order to ride X. If it was advertised as opening LATE 2001, I would have waited 'til 2002 to get my next pass, as I usually get a pass every TWO years, in conjunction with the new ride pattern SFMM had been following prior to this year. In short, YES, I got a pass SPECIFICALLY because of X, which I NEVER though would have been delayed soooo long. I had trips planned in August, September and December (Cancelled December) figuring it would be LONG open by then, considering the renewal suggested all three would be open LONG before the summer rush. I did get to ride DejaVu in September and was impressed wth it. It seemed like little more than a over-sized boomerang until I rode it. Quite impressive! Goliath Jr, cant ride it, too tall. That wasnt mentioned in the renewal either. I expected the smaller version of Goliath to actually resemble Goliath to some extent and be a "family" ride. Not a small children ONLY ride.
I am saddened and disappointed. I am sure the ride (X) will be great and cant wait to finally ride it, but that does not change the fact that I FEEL misled and upset.
PS - regarding the recently dismantled shuttle loop, Viper.... I too have a hunch that SF is sitting on it and will throw it up at SFMM in April or May, so they can keep their claim of most coasters. (That'll be 16). Just a hunch.

LoadedG...as much as you were "misled" (although it says that rides are subject to not being open..), you still went four times. I'd say you got your moneys worth, even if X wasn't open...
Yes, I do believe I got my money's worth out of my pass, although I CANCELLED the fourth (DEC) trip. I also used my pass at SFWoA in Ohio. But I still FEEL upset and disappointed. I got the pass solely because I was gonna go to SFMM to ride X. Did I use the pass??? Heck Yeah, used it about as much as a person 400miles away from an amusement park could. DID I ride X??? NO. That is what disappoints me. For over a year I have been anticipating this ride and now that it is FINALLY opening & I'll have to wait and pay again. :(
