X OFFCIALLY Opening...Not a Lie. Dec 24'th!

I really don't like this idea much at all. If I were a full-price paying guest, and saw that X was only open to season passholders...I would be ticked off. This kind of relates to the Fastlane deal.

This is all just an opinion, don't rip me too bad.

A guess. They'll only have one train op. Otherwise why do a whimpy launch for only season pass holders? However they know that the people who bought season passes to ride X would be highly irate (read unlikely to buy one next year) without getting to ride at all. This is a teaser to keep resubscription rates high. And the other trains will probably come slinking in in early january, when they are finished.
1 Week til X, thats great news, I really wish I could get  there to ride it.

Comatose:

There are at least two complete trains on site that you can see - one was testing and the other was on the transfer track.  All three trains could actually be on site and complete; they could have been testing two of them because you can't see all of the station interior when you're in the park.

Hmm....I'll probably be in all Adidas gear, cept for a cap, I'm the spikey haired hispanic guy. Probably will go on the 24th or 26th, I'll have to check my job schedule.

john peck, I disagree.  Your season pass holders make up a solid customer base, and it allows you to be able to bank on a certain amount of money coming in.  I think its extremelly fair for SFMM to reward its season pass holders for being thier catalyst this year.  Ecspecially considering that the bulk of season pass holders thought X and Deja Vu would all be opening without any delays.

Just wait till next year!
I really need to know if its for all season pass holders, not just SFMM. After all, theres no way to tell where your season pass is from

I'll be in vegas that week, and im going to renty a car and drive to that thing if I have to!!!!!!

How much more floorless can they get?

Scroll up and read ZeroG's post. The park is accepting all SF passes.

Just got off the phone with SFMM season pass office and they said that any SF pass will work.

It helps to read the previous posts, or you could call the SFMM season pass office for yourself. :)

Sorry, i dont know how that one slipped through my fingers...

How much more floorless can they get?
i know this is a frowned upon question, but it might be informative to everyone hoping to go on this day...I know that the park is usually somewhat quiet on Christmas Eve, but with X premiering to season pass holder like myself, what kind of crowds SHOULD we expect on the 24th? I mean, im prepared to wait 2 hours to ride it, but it would be comforting to know what kinda sized crowds i should be expecting...
-----------------
Be prepared for a zoo. School is out so the park might be just a bit busier than usual. But keep in mind that flyers about X were just mailed out to all 2001 season pass holders. I'd say get there early and expect long waits.  I know other will say differently, but I'd rather be prepared for the worse, then by pleasantly surprised if it's not that bad.

So SF, Arrow, and X haters...what do you say about that?

Actually, no it didn't. There was never an official date set by SFMM.

But It still opened closer to 2002 than 2001. I don't care if the park set an official date or not, it's still safe to assume when they say "new for 2001", they don't mean it's going to be opening January 12th, 2002.

I do understand, though.. this is a year-round park, so there's always going to be some sort of time when the park is open, and there's construction going on. oh well.

first drop looks neet,

-*Wicked Twister....didn't theysing "We're not gonna take it"??*-

Looks like conflicting information is going out. I just spoke to somone in promotions at MM and they said the preride was ONLY for MM season passholders.

Other information,

you won't need a 2002 season pass for the 1st-4th or if you get a 2002 pass you CAN ride the 1st-4th

Just to make it easy for you all, I'll just lay out the schedule-

X is having preview rides Dec. 24, 26-28, 31, and Jan. 1-4 10Am-8Pm.

Official Media Day- Jan. 10
Official Opening Day- Jan. 12
See http://www.sixflags.com/parks/magicmountain/ticketinfo/seasonpasses.html for more info.

If they’re running, I’ll get ‘em. If they’re not, they should be.

DWeaver,

I do remember SFMM saying X was to open late summer.  A quick check of the calendar shows it's not even close to late summer, but just a few days from winter actually.  :)

Either way, I bet it's terribly exciting to be a SF passholder in LA right now!
