WW = Worst Expansion Ever

I changed my mind. I like this expansion. Sure there aren't any completely new rides, but the scenery is amazing. I guess the game just grew on me.

What? No Rocket Coaster or anything?

SURPRISE! Told ya so! This is not an expansion pack per se by Chris but more like an expansion for Infograms (oops, Atari).

I have to agree with you Dusa65. Even though I wasn't counting on new rides, I was happy to have new scenarios to conquer. Something was definately rushed here. The graphic quality is really poor and there seems to be lots of little glitches in the graphics when using some of the "themed" ..ahem.. coaster cars. Thank goodness it was a semi-humid day here in New England and the little clear round sticker that keeps the box intact came off with no problem. Cause it's already back on, and going back to the store tommorrow. I don't really want to blame Chris Sawyer for this since he probably is under immense pressure from Infogrames/Atari to continue capitalizing on their software cash cow, but we, the RCT fans, should demand better from him. New rides or not.

Wacky Worlds really is crap guys.

For the record I am a RCT player in my 30's, not some kid on here bashing the expansion pack to start a flame war.

Stay away! The quality is very poor!

Monkey trains? Aww man, I was really looking forward to some giraffe trains! Guess I'll just have to wait for the next one... :)

Backhand, who thinks signatures like this are redundant

What kind of store did you buy it from? Most stores won't take back an opened CD.

Am I really that shy?

Wow! This sounds like pure crap. I'm staying away from this.

All who think Mean Streak needs a match taken to it say I.

Same here. I was hoping for good reviews with the new theming and all - as well as hoping there might be some new rides. But unfortunately, it looks like it's not worth buying.
Unfortunatly, I agree with everyone. Though some of the stuff is neat(suspended polar bear coaster), none of it is worth $29.99. If you go get this try to get a low price. This expansion takes you farther away from reality with all the scenery. Alot of the new scenery is good, but again not worth $29.99.
That sounds awful. I don't mind new scenery, but from what I have seen and heard, even that doesn't sound very appealing.

I think the best way to show that this is not what we want is to A. Not buy this or B. Take it back and let the stores know. If sales are bad, I would say that they might be forced to rethink some stuff before they make another expansion.

Anyone thinking of coming out and saying "This is great for Infogrames, blah blah, quit wining, at least it is something new, blah, etc." PLEASE spare everyone. This expansion is a total and huge disappointment, enthusiast, gamer, no matter who you are. This should cost $5 or be free. This is a disgrace.
I made my mind that I wasn't getting it when I saw the screens now that I read the reviews, its for sure im not getting it.
Spoiled Brats. Infogrames owes you nothing. All they did was give us something to play until Chris Sawyer finishes what he thinks is a major expansion, or maybe RCT3D. It's obvious not much serious work went into it, and if the rumors are right the Chris Sawyer had nothing to do with WW, then maybe he is secretly working on another Roller Coaster game.

Me? I think it looks decent. Some of the PROFESSIONAL reviews have been positive, even the Gamespy one (they gave it a 7/10 or GOOD). I also got a coupon for $15 since they really screwed up my purchase of Sim City 4 (at Gamestop). I will get it. Most of you will get it sometime too, only since it is in the RCT series.

WHAT'S THE MATTER COLONEL SANDERS? CHICKEN!?

So does it actually work without the CD? I'll get it, and return it then.

I'm hoping to get a review from G4TV first, but from what I've heard so far the game is a big dissappointment.

I mean come on ,no new flat rides,no new coasters! this is a real waste for avid fans of the game from both a coaster enthusiast & casual gamer standpoint & we,who are the ones shelling out our money should have our opinions heard about what we want or don't want in the game.

This seems to be a cheap take off to LL but even LL was better because at least it gave us a few "new rides" not just re themed versions of existing ones,I mean how can they retheme 250 rides?

I wouldn't really call them "spoiled brats"; I would call them "consumers". Calling it a disgrace is extreme, but it's clear that they wanted more coasters, flat rides and scenarios. Instead they got scenery, scenery people seem to find lacking in its quality. Not liking the expansion pack merely makes them dissatisfied customers with a valid opinion.

I can fully appreciate the time-consuming difficulty involved in programming new flat rides and coaster types, but I would be more willing to wait 18 or 24 months for an expansion pack of that sort than 6 months for this one.

This one seems to offer elaborate and very specific scenery that doesn't interest me much, or really serve my gameplay. I'm not planning on buying it; doesn't mean I won't buy a future one.

ETA: Buying any game with the intention of continuing to play it after returning the CD for a refund is dishonest and illegal. Just because it's easy doesn't mean you should do it.

Funny that's what I was thinking about all the posts complaining.

I still don't see how anyone is surprised by this (good or bad opinion) - we've known this for months. Refusal to believe it was a scenery add-on is the major flaw.

I understand, the "well, it is just scenery and the scenery sucks" complaints to a degree. Opinion is valid in any form. But those of you expecting new rides..I can only laugh.

I'll get my copy one of these days...

Dorney Park Visits in 2003: 2

The only good thing here were the re-themed snowcups- I was so sick of the snowman.

The only place Sawyer's name is mentioned in the CD booklet is on the copyright on the back page- not with the design team.

BTW the CD doesn't really seem to have a purpose once you install it (as opposed to the Sims series where the old CD's are useless once you get a new one). You can't even "play" the game with the WW CD in the computer!

By not listening to most of the buyers and fans of the original games and the first RollerCoaster Tycoon II game, they've driven their profits straight into the gutter. Lackluster reviews and disappointed gamers was just what the doctor ordered!

Driven their profits straight into the gutter? Are you paying attention? Check the financials...

I don't know why anyone would be even the least bit surprised about what's new in the game. It's not like we haven't known for some time, or never saw screen shots.
