World's first tilt coaster in action

Wow. That ride looks great. Atfirst I thought the trains were sexy lookin but from that loop pic my mind changed.

Great ride concept though! Can't wait till the come to the US!

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.

I'm glad they finally got it going.

I would like to know the specifics of the failsafes on that ride. As long as you are restrained on a normal coaster not much could go wrong. A bad accident would have bumps bruises, and perhaps a few broken bones. However, a mechanical faliure on that would probably mean 32 deaths.

That ride looks really great. What a fantastic start. The vertical drop entering the tunnel looks like fun.

Good job Vekoma.

Only worry is the join between the tilting trak and the stationary track. Hope it is a good fit.

I've been asking about the status of this coaster for a long time, and I'm very glad to see it finally in motion! Looks amazing.

I don't know if I could ride it. I just don't trust that sort of mechanism.

That ride looks really cool. I'm glad to see it's finally open. I wonder if it is rough like all of the other vekoma's or if it is smooth. Doesn't that ride have a back up break system incase the first one fails?
I'm sure it has a back up safety system. But then what if that system fails. That kind of thing happens. I certainly wouldn't think anything that bad would ever happen, but I don't think I could ever feel 100% safe on that ride. So much more could go wrong than compared to any other coaster. (With much worse consequences.)

That's the craziest sh*t i've ever seen in my life!! I wish one of those things came to my area. That first drop looks insane!

I am sure the drop is amazing, BUT as Peabody says, I just can't 100% trust it. No way....

I would rather ride the towers that are being removed at Knotts and CP.

I wouldn't trust it 100% either...but then again, nothing's 100%. I always figure if I die on a coaster, at least I went the way I wanted to....so sure, I'd give it a go. Probably if all goes well, there will be another one built, hopefully a *tad* closer to home.

It must be March, the Madness is setting in! I'm lost in Bracketville and there's no way out...

Nasai, I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. No other coaster could make me feel that way. Every type of ride by any company suffers mechanical problems, usually, the consequences are minor. They wouldn't be in this case. Brakes fail. Backup systems fail. Machines built and maintained by humans can't be perfect. Even if a computer controls it, computers fail. We ALL know that! If this wasn't true, we wouldn't have the mechanical problems that happen often, usually with no or minor consequences.

Don't get me wrong, I'd ride it, but the potential for serious harm seems much higher.

They should rename it 'Pinball: The Ride.' ;)

Jeff, yeah....danger is just so OBVIOUS on this ride. It is quite inherent in certain hobbies.....Bungee Jumping, Skydiving, Hang-gliding..... it shouldn't be this way with coasters, but YES, brakes do fail, and the FIRST time this one does, people will die.

No way in HELL!

www.tripowered.com ~This is much safer...:)

What would happen if wind speed would suddenly pick up? There goes the coaster train off the side of the track...I'd give it a go anyways though, just for the experience...Who thinks this thing looks crazier than X?

Um, hopefully you are joking about it being crazier than X. The ride has a neat feature to it, yes, but nothing like X.

If you engineer it properly, this type of ride can be made as safe as any other coaster. Remember that a roll back or a brake failure on many coasters has the potential to be quite disasterous.

The real extra risk here is that coaster designers don't have 100 years of perfecting the safeties for this type of design. Hopefully they did some real safety analysis to determine just what is required.

No Dood that is crazier then X, you don't have teh chance of dying with X, frankly riding this thing would scare the everloving crap out of me, all I can say is, Sweet mother of all thats good in this world.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

Do you goofballs really think that a park would install a ride like this if they thought there was even the slightest chance of a failure like that? I'm sure there are back ups to back up the back ups that back up the back ups. C'mon, most of you guys would run anyone else off for suggesting that a coaster might be dangerous by design.
No other coaster is liek this. I don't car how many backups there are they can fail, ever watch Apollo 13? I would ride this thing but it would scare teh everloving crap out of me.
