World's first tilt coaster in action

Bigboy, Magnumforce is right. There is a chance of danger with this coaster, just like any other. The potential accident would be MUCH worse on this one though. Backups only go so far. You know how many backups planes have to keep them in the air? Planes don't land safely 100% of the time. How bout the space shuttle Challenger? You can have 1000 seperate backups....if it's built by human beings it can fail.

You are bold, but are you also...daring?

One word : Vekoma. How many times have we heard about something going wrong on Deja Vu? If t hey can not make a boomrang work properly, how are they going to build a brand new type of coaster. The ride looks freaky enough as it is, I will be waiting for the brakes to give out on that coaster. How do they even re-align everything? I mean if the ride didn't kill you , the wait would. I have finally found a coaster I probably won't ride.

I would be worried about this ride if it were made by any manufacturer. I am not insisting to be an alarmist, however I wouldn't be caught on this ride. Mechanisms are built by fallible people. Failures on this ride would be catastrophic. I wish I could bring myself to check it out, though. I admire the gumption it took to build it.

It's so funny, every time this subject comes up, we go round and round about the dangers of this kind of coaster. Of course there is potential dangers with this type of ride if all systems fail. But what are the chances of all of the back up sysytems failing at once? Sure it could happen, but not very likely. What you would have to decide for yourself is if those dangers are worth it. Personally, I'd be more worried about getting hurt on a merry-go-round, coasters are far more scutinized. Just MO

Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?

I agree Dweaver. I don't think anyone here is saying the chances of something happening are anything other that microscopic in percentage, or even any higher than any other coaster. But, if the something failed on this coaster, it would likely have worse concequenses that on any other.

Hey

Ive been talking to a mate of mine at Vekoma asia and he assures me the only way the coaster can fail is if the Earths poles reverse. so i assume it has a magnetic fail safe in at some point. Anyway even if there was even that microscopic chance it would fail do u really think it would get approval by Organisations like the TUV???

I think half the point of the ride is to make you uncertain. And by god this thread shows it works :p

I don't know if I could do it. Looking down the drop is one thing, looking down a drop with no track in front of you is another.

Would it make a difference if B&M designed it instead of Vekoma?
Hell, I'd do it. I went on vertigo at CP, and I'd jump on it again if they decided to fix and re-open it.

I don't think it would matter if B&M built it. I wouldn't ride it if Jesus himself built it.:)

It's March, but the Madness is over in Mudville, Mighty U-D has struck out...
If you can't laugh at yourself, at least stop laughing at ME!

i would ride this coaster, without a second thought.

Here is a unique ride, something completely different and we are complaining it's unsafe. I am glad the companies are pushing the boundaries, to increase our enjoyment.

I hope to hell this thing never comes to the U.S. or we'll never hear the end of it from Markey

Rollercoasters are my life, I think about them more than I think about....wait, thats all I think about :)

The fact that it doesn't look safe just ups the level of fear of it. Which makes it even better IMO.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

yes, this design and the 4-D i'll never really trust...

this design of course what if the brakes fail, and the 4D...well, its just been in the back of my head....what if one of the cars snap off the sides on one of those fast high g pullouts like on the bottom of the 2nd raven turn or the first drop on X? dun dunn dunnn...

rollergator!!! LOL! That is cutting edge comedy dude. Sam Kinison would be proud of you.... Still...oh, how you have offended me:) Anyways... I do love the fact that Vekoma is trying very hard to make a difference, and NO, I am not complaining about their efforts. I applaud them, but you wouldn't catch me on that. That's all...

www.tripowered.com ~ rollergator is going to burn.

The Tilt coaster looks too intense for me.

I don't know. I guess if they are running this thing it must be safe... But....

It still looks dangerous to me...

Planned Parks for this summer: SFoGa, CP, SFWoA, SFGAm, SFKK, PKI, MA, SFStL, HW, KW. Is 10 enough?
Cornerstone Festival 2002... I will be there

All rides are dangerous. It's the chance you hafta take. This ride may not be as dangerous as some of the older woodies. Come on please. I'd ride it. Heck I LOVE it. This is my type of ride.

Would you guys ride it if there was a removable barrier at the end where it tilts?(Something along that train of thought)

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.
